Our program is very hands-on based where you receive one-on-one interaction with clients and have the opportunity to use what you learn in class. However, you also get that research side of things as well. The professors are very knowlegable about the course that they teach. Cons would be the amount of time you spend between class and seeing patients. It is hard to have a job but not impossible. I did it; it's all about time management and remembering that the opportunity and experience you are getting is preparing you for the real world.

I am just starting this program. The assistance with application to the university was very helpful. The financial aid office was even accessible by phone in a timely manner! I have been very impressed thus far. The online tutorials have been helpful as well.

This program is an excellent program for working individuals although the workload is fairly heavy at times. The faculty is very accessible and the campus administrators do an excellent job of getting financial aid in line and questions answered. In certain situations I've found the program to be a bit disorganized but nothing that isn't noticeable in any university and the kinks are always worked out. The program is incredibly affordable as well with zero hidden fees or for profit shenanigans since it is a public university. I've had access to education that corresponds with the latest information in the field and all in all, although the program is not currently CACREP accredited, I feel like I made the right choice.

The online Master's program that I am attending through Lamar University is very accessible for a working mother like myself. It provides a strong academic challenge through their classes while still providing support in the form of weekly chats with the professor and a rigid academic calendar to outline the assignments that need to be done in order to succeed. This outline allows me to be successful at my job and have time with my family since I can schedule the time to complete my school work at the beginning of every week. The professors and instructional aides are extremely accessible through email and quick to reply. Their feedback on assignments are thorough so that you can always improve on the next one.
