Louisiana Tech is provides not only a great education, but a great home away from home. I originally wanted to go to school closer to home, but after visiting Louisiana Tech I fell in love. At this school, you are not just a number. I found it amazing that all of my professors knew me by name and cared about me personally. Louisiana Tech also has one of the most hands on engineering curriculums in the state, which made learning very applicable in the real world.

I loved my time at Tech. Everyone is friendly and the teachers are great. It has a low student to faculty ratio.

Degree: Exercise Science
Graduation Year: 2016

The professors in my department were very helpful and friendly. They gave great instruction in the majority of the classes. Outside of the Kinesiology department professors are on both ends of the spectrum. Some were great and cared about students learning. Others not so much. The campus isn't very diverse although most students are friendly. All in all it's a good university to attend. And I would recommend it to others.

Degree: Nutrition
Graduation Year: 2017

I love the graduate program because it is online so I can work at my pace during the week since I am in the Dietetic Intern at the same time. The teachers are quick to answer your questions and love to help you if you ask. The cons is the workload can be a lot some weeks since I work 40 hours a week on top of assignments that my internship requires of me. This did helped advance my time management skills in order to be successful in my classes.

Degree: Mechanical Engineering
Graduation Year: 2016

My background is in Biomedical Engineering and I chose to pursue Enngineering Management as my graduate program so that I can also seek a managerial position within an engineering company. My career will not be limited only as a biomedical engineer but I will have other options as well. Being an international student, the only disadvantage is despite of having online classes in this program, I need to take on-campus class so as to retain my student visa status.

Degree: Counseling

Pros: Support and guidance of faculty members in this program, guidance for APA paper improvements, financial aid relatively easy, quality education meeting national standards, diversity of students, campus safety Cons: Needs to be more applied rather then content before practicum, access to certain teachers, lack of organization on moodle for some teachers

Degree: Fitness Trainer
Graduation Year: 2016

What I expect to gain out of the Kinesiology program at Louisiana Tech University is a top-notch, research-driven experience. The department of Kinesiology has nationally-known faculty members that will help me further my knowledge and passion, specifically for Sports Performance. My dreams and desires match perfectly with this program, and I cannot be more elated to be down there and join the exciting atmosphere. Although, Ruston is not one of the most safest places in the US, we have been bombarded with advice and where to live in the town. The hospitality that the faculty and staff have shown is extremely inviting, which makes even more comforting for my wife and I to travel 13 hours from our home to start a new chapter in Louisiana.
