It is a reasonable state University for Graduate School. You can have a family while going to school.

The MBA program at Metropolitan State University has been very challenging. I spend about 15-20 hours per week per class. This program can be taken over 5 years (one class per semester). This is very accommodating for people like myself who are working full time and trying to pay for school at the same time. The option to take online classes makes the school very flexible. I have had great experience with the Professors, except for this semester. My current Professor is not from here and he is sometimes hard to communicate with. This school has a very diverse group of students going through the graduate program. I feel that I get a lot out of the classes and the Professors do a really nice job of applying the principals to every day life.

I chose Metropolitan State University for it's competitive price and because I knew some co-workers who were also attending the school for various programs. At the time, it was the only school that offered the degree program that I wanted. The courses have had disproportionate amount of work. Many times, when I take two credit courses, I end up doing the same or more work than I do in four credit courses. Until recently, the professors have been responsive in giving me feedback and guidance about class scheduling, but I noticed a severe dropoff in communication for the entire university over the past two semesters. Overall, the school is a great value but if I were to choose again I would like go elsewhere for my degree program.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2014

When I enrolled in the Social Work Program at Metropolitan State University it was brand new and needed to weed out a few bugs. For the most part it is a great program and costs far less than others I looked at. I think sometimes the office staff in the social work department is short tempered and overworked. I also really feel that Social work should consider allowing students with undergraduates in Psychology and human services to have advanced standing. I have a BA in Psychology and spent a lot of time board because I had already studied what everyone else was learning. The only thing that kept me busy was the ridiculously long papers and sharing info from my undergraduate books with classmates.
