This program was outstanding. It prepared me well for my teaching career and taught me to be a reflective educator. I have made a lot of connections with other teachers through the program too, and also really improved my writing skills. The classes were very applicable to the teaching field, as I was currently teaching when I went through the degree program. It was completely online, and was easy to integrate into my life and career.

I loved the school, and the environment. I just wish that I could have learned more about publishing my research before leaving the school. I think the program was great: I feel like I learned a ton and had some great professors and colleagues throughout my time at the school

Bozeman has a culture all its own. A visit to the town and university will help make the determination.

The MSSE program at Montana State is a high quality program for science teachers of all types and backgrounds. The science classes offered are diverse and challenging, allowing educators to explore and study like a student while finding new ideas for engaging students in our classrooms. Summer courses provide an opportunity to study in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem with some of the best professors MSU has to offer. The education classes guide us through the process of active research and how it benefits a 21st century science classroom. The mentors are simply the best at providing instruction and support while we work through our research. Lastly, connecting with educators from all over the globe has probably been the most enriching part of this process as their daily thoughts, comments and questions have challenged me to be a better teacher and person.

The MSSE program at Montana State is a great stepping stone for teachers with years of experience or very little. The instructors are top notch in their fields and work with you through the whole program. And you meet teachers from all over the world!

Degree: Mathematics
Graduation Year: 2016

My graduate program is great because during the school year it is completely online and during the summer we go to campus. I was also pleased that I was able to take some of my classes through the Adult & Higher Education Department because I teach at the College level which is different from most of my peers in the program. The only drawback is the cost in the summer is steep and I don't get any tuition assistance from MSU even though I work .85 FTE during the school year.

Degree: Architecture
Graduation Year: 2012

From an environmental perspective the university really is located in a beautiful area with great access to outdoor recreation. However, I feel that the majority of the design studios that I took, and that were offered, while in the graduate program didn't provide me with anymore practical knowledge than what was offered in the undergraduate program here. The focus seemed instead to be of a philosophical or theoretical nature, rather than on providing the skill set that would create a more well-rounded and knowledgeable individual in terms of the real world practice of architecture. Although the content was interesting, from the perspective of someone in the work force I can not say that the majority of this content has had any practical application or significantly attributed to my professional development.

MSU has been amazing to work with. Since I am doing my program entirely online, I have yet to visit the campus. So far, the staff and online resources have been incredibly helpful and I am continually ecstatic about the program I have chosen.
