I honestly could not have asked for an overall better medical school experience.

The NYU GSAS MA in English Literature is a tremendously competitive and useful degree to hold in the field. My professors are amazing. Every professor I have is on par with those rare very, very best professors I encountered as an undergraduate. Even so, it is a super expensive program that offers next to no financial aid, and living in New York City is astronomically expensive.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2014

The Graduate program in Cognition & Perception at NYU is certainly one of the best in the world to learn about the brain and how to do top quality and creative research. Research is central in the graduate program: Prestigious faculty members, top-level research, and great interaction with researchers, postdocs and students from other labs and other departments (neural science, computer science, phylosophy, linguistics). You will start research immediately and will have the chance to be exposed to a broad range of topics in cognition and perception. Should I add that New York City is a wonderful city??

NYU has most of the benefits and drawbacks of New York City itself--great location, numerous cultural and social opportunities, access to big thinkers (if they have time for you), events, and institutions. Perhaps because of the hustle and bustle of the city, faculty availability varies widely, though there seems to be no strong general culture of mentoring graduate students. The atmosphere is at times poisonously competitive, although most grad students share comparable funding. Grad students have rather incredible flexibility on their teaching load as a result of a somewhat complicated ongoing attempt by the administration to prevent students from successfully forming a union. For now, this situation is a boon to quality of life, but it may have negative consequences down the road.

Degree: Political Science

The department of politics at NYU has one of the greatest scholarship program in the world. The scholarship covers all from tuition to stipend. And it is given to all the Ph.D student without exception. And the faculty members are really leading scholars in their fields. New DGS is very competitive and nice. He is improving the program much better in terms of the quality of dissertation, job market preparation and performance. NYU Politics is the one of the best Ph.D program in the world.

Degree: Political Science
Graduation Year: 2015

NYU Politics offers a very particular PhD program focused on quantitative methods and formal modeling. This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you are willing to engage in it, you'll get a very good training in those sub fields.

The best thing in the Econ Ph. D. at NYU was the quality and accessibility of the faculty. From what I heard from people from other programs, it seems that professors at NYU are much more accessible than in other places.
