"Pros: rigorous course of study; knowledgeable professors Cons: poor communication regarding administrative requirements, but it is getting better; too much group work"

"Overall the program is great. The faculty is understanding and works with students as much as possible but the workload can be a bit much especially when working full time."

"I believe that my the law program at North Carolina Central is one of the best in the nation and I am proud to be enrolled there. The school has such a rich history and has produced some quality attorneys and judges. The courses are challenging, but the professors make sure that the student understands what is being taught. It is a highly supportive environment, as classmates and staff constantly provide encouragement. The schools location in Durham, makes it prime as far as networking with companies and attorneys in the area. Durham is a melting pot of people and legal areas. My interest is largely international law, I do wish that the school had a few more classes focusing on international law, but other than that, the school offers a wide range of electives."

"NCCU is an affordable option offering a quality education. The classes are offered in the evening which provides an optimal schedule for a working professional. Parking is horrible during the day so taking evening classes is great. The neighborhood is not the safest but other than that the graduate program is great!"

"You can't find a better education for the price of NC Central's graduate programs. In light of the relatively low cost of living around this part of Durham, it's an obvious choice for students paying their own way through school. The faculty are also knowledgeable and inviting!"

"For students interested in a career as a speech-language pathologist, NCCU is great! It's an expedient program, and the faculty work hard to get you through the program quickly. I will be finished after only 2 years! Plus, this school is much more affordable than most other programs."

"I am half-way through the Library and Information Science program at NCCU. I take all of my courses on-line, but I am familiar with the Durham area. The program is accredited by the American Library Association. A degree from an institution accredited by the ALA is a MUST for most positions in the industry. The on-line program is a great choice for me. I moved to two different states while in the program and it didn't affect my studies. As an on-line student, it is a bit more difficult to access some faculty, staff and other resources. This should not detour someone from the program. It requires more effort on the part of the student to be successful."
