Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2015

This program is excellent value and the professors are very personable. Class size is good, and professors are all very qualified for what they are teaching. This program helps find and set up the our internships. I'm really glad that I decided to apply and attend this school!

Degree: Special Education
Graduation Year: 2015

The good thing about studying special education at Northern Illinois University is how up-to-date the classes are, as well as how informative the instruction has been thus far. I like how it is within a reasonable driving distance from home and work. The downside is the lack of diversity in financial aid options. There is rather little available outside of a tuition waiver (which is great if one can get it) or a loan. I really would like to see more made available.

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2015

I really enjoyed the flexibility and curriculum that was provided through the online courses. The only drawback is the availability of the courses. As a working student the flexibility of class availability is important.

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2015

This is a great program! The faculty are very personable and take interest in who you are as a person and developing you into a professional who will excel in one's career. I like that it is not in a city, but rather farm area.

Degree: Physical Therapy
Graduation Year: 2016

The graduate program is significantly more affordable than other schools in the Illinois area. This played a crucial role in my selection of the school. I also did my undergraduate classes there. The area is very familiar to me and it is also close enough to home if my family were to need me for any reason.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2015

I have found the school of education at NIU to be a well oiled machine, designed to give students the opportunity to explore their academic interests and support them in their goals. The educational psychology program is academically rigorous, and the faculty are all great scholars and educators. There really aren't any cons for the program, although, I would say that the university's library is occasionally limited, but there are work-arounds for the eager student.
