Degree: Conflict Resolution
Graduation Year: 2018

My program needs to be discussed from three aspects. First of all, it is undeniable that most professors of NSU are doing a decent job. They are knowledgeable and really care about you. They want to help you succeed. Thus, my program earns credits for their excellent teaching skills and patient attitude. Then, the university campus is an extra merit. It is really beautiful. The largest library in Fl locates in NSU. However, there are some problems at the doctoral programs. Most research universities in the U.S. provide scholarship packages to qualified doctoral students. The scholarship packages include tuition waiver, health insurance, and stipends, so doctoral students can focus on their study. However, many doctoral programs do not have scholarship packages like this for doctoral applicants. It is a big issue. The average length of a Ph.D. program is 5 years, so many doctoral students in NSU have to take part-time job and can't focus on their study. If they do not focus on their study, it is hard to get their papers published. If they can't get paper published, NSU get lower academic presence in the academic community. Thus, it is like a vicious circle. Without generous scholarships, many talented doctoral applicants are less likely to choose NSU, as they can go to universities enjoying better rankings. I feel like the rankings and reputation of NSU will be going up at a faster rate, if this issue can be taken care. All in all, NSU is a good research university with many problems that they need to get fixed.

Degree: Public Health
Graduation Year: 2018

I recently completely my Master of Public health degree at Nova. Overall, I have been happy while pursuing my online degree here. The professors I had were very knowledgeable and seemed excited to teach their courses. My program was organized and my professors were always easy to contact and quick to respond. I liked that my class sizes were small (about 10-20 students), it made the classes seem more intimate. One thing that annoyed me during this process was needing a letter of recommendation from a professor. I asked a professor from my most recent semester for a letter for a fellowship , he also happened to be the program director. He told me no and that he did not know me well enough. This was an unfortunate situation because I had done well in the class and I was active in discussion during the course. I figured this was the problem with pursuing online degrees, you may not develop the same relationship with the professor that you would if you had classes on campus. So that was upsetting, but I found a way around it. I do plan on pursuing another degree here soon.

Degree: Law
Graduation Year: 2011

Most of the professors were outstanding. They really went out of their way to help you. It was truly a great experience. The only issue would be the cost. Do not take loans if you do not have to and if you have to only borrow the minimum amount you need. Apply for scholarships and grants.

Degree: Speech Pathology
Graduation Year: 2020

Nova Southeastern University has basically been my second home. From the library to the classes, the campus is extremely inviting and a pleasure to be in. Because the university is private, the class sizes are small and intimate. The course directors I have interacted with have been very helpful and have kept me active in the program rather than just being a student. I only hope to continue to represent the university to their standards and continue moving forward in my academic career at Nova Southeastern University. I would highly recommend the Nova Southeastern University and push everyone to not only be a student but an active participant in all their community outreaches.

Degree: Curriculum & Instruction
Graduation Year: 2006

As a student from a foreign country taking an online program for the first time2004, Nova Southeastern University made my level of anxiety minimal. The professors were stern with their level of expectation to insure the integrity of their courses and yet they understood the sacrifices being made by adult learners who in some cases have full-time jobs, were taking an on-line course for the first time or take a graduate course for the first time. Executing assignments and accessing information was made more manageable the user-friendly on-line technology. There was a high level of tech. and faculty support from the off-set and although on-line learning requires discipline and organizational skills, the least organized can still find the right fit to see them through the program successfully. Having a career goal means finding the right fit in a program and/ or institution of higher learning, Nova Southeastern University has online courses that although is developed for cohorts is still individualized and is highly recognized for the value of its program.
