"My particular program is "weekend intensive" meaning that i attend classes one weekend per month on a schedule that is as follows: Fri- 6-10 Sat 9-6 and Sun 9-5:30. There are assignments that are sometimes due between the class meeting times and of course many readings but I do like this. This gives me the in person instruction that i prefer over online while still allowing me to work full time to take care of myself financially. the class sizes are very intimate in my program and we operate within a cohort so I have the same classmates throughout the entire program. School counseling is a steadily growing field and I can tell my professors really love the field. The only thing I miss is not really getting the on campus feel and having that sense of connection to the university since classes are only one weekend a month but the education being provided is wonderful!"

"I am very satisfied with the program as a whole. Nova is an excellent school where the students can get to know people from all over the world and exchange experiences."

"Nova Southeastern University has an outstanding Mental Health Counseling Program. The faculty of the program are very knowledgeable, and are true professionals. The faculty members maintain recognition, not only in an academic setting, but within the community. Faculty members are easily accessible for extra help outside of the classroom, and are willing to help students in other areas of life, apart from academia. For a Master's program, the course load was relatively moderate, but the information taught was pertinent to one gaining the clinical skills necessary to have post-graduation. The program entailed an appropriate level of clinical experience for one to have, prior to graduating in the field of counseling, in addition to the general book knowledge. Nova is a highly recognized and well-known university in South Florida, and I would highly recommend the program to anyone that is looking to pursue a career in the counseling field."

"As a private institution located in South Florida, NSU does everything they can to get their students through undergraduate and graduate studies. Affordability of living in South Florida and the expense to transport to and from campus are probably the only cons I could think of if asked. Otherwise, I can't wait to join the Optometry program! I just need a little help with expenses."

"I love the organization of the curriculum. The professors are very professional, attentive, and willing to help their students. I love the open door policy and that students are able to walk into the professors office at any point in time."

"Even though it is a very intense program, you do learn a lot. The campus in SWFL is small and not crowded. There is no time for social life or family life when you are in a program. Overall it is a good investment for your future."

"Nova Southeastern University is very diverse, yet still provides a great sense of community among students and even faculty. The faculty is always available and truly cares about student success."

"Aside from the school being on the expensive side and the constant problems with printer/internet malfunctions, I have enjoyed my experience at Nova Southeastern University. The professors are very knowledgeable and most have an open door policy. Therefore, they are always available if you need that extra help. The class sizes are between 50-65 students per class, which is great because your professors typically get to know you personally instead of you being just a number. Housing around campus can be on the expensive side just because of the area the university is located in, but there are reasonable areas in driving distance that make it affordable. Overall, it was a great experience!"

"Nova Southeastern University's graduate program is completely focused on making their students successful in their careers. The faculty and staff make themselves available to students at all convenient times for anything they may need. The program makes the transition from the didactic stage to the clinical phase easy for the students. The program has many more pros than cons, but one con is the size of the class 75-80 students which although faculty is available and willing to help the attention each student gets is somewhat limited."

"I believe this is a great program. However, there is a low faculty to student ratio. The faculty is very disorganized and constantly make schedule or policy changes last minute. The program is very competitive, and a lot of students experience stress, and depression while being part of this program. The academic workload is very intense, and the faculty is not very helpful because they are always so busy. Nevertheless, this program provides excellent clinical training."

"The graduate program has great opportunities for research and community involvement. The professors have a diverse range of backgrounds. The only negative is the high tuition of this program."

"It is the nearest option for students living in Martin, St. Lucie and Palm Beach counties who wish to commute to law school. The programs is rather solid with an increasing reputation in the area. I believe that the alumni network may be its most valuable asset for those who wish to build a career in South Florida."

"I have only been in the program for a few months, since I started in August 2013. So far I am extremely satisfied with not only the school environment and the cleanliness of the campus, but also the staff. I am currently going on my second semester and the professors I have taken in my previous semester as well as my current semester have been a huge benefit to my knowledge about the mental health field. The only negative thing that I can come up with about Nova Southeastern University is the traffic that surrounds the campus. Since Broward College, FAU Davie Campus as well as high schools are near the Nova campus, traffic can be hectic. This I know cannot be changed so I will only get used to it. Since it does not effect my learning process, I am fine with it."

"I love everything about my graduate program. The professors are wonderful, so knowledgeable. They are easy to get in touch with as well. My advisor,  also rocks. The school has great equipment and all resources needed for practice is at the students fingertips. I have never loved studying something as much as I do Speech- Language Pathology. I credit all of that to Nova's superior professors and staff. When the people presenting information are enthusiastic about what they are discussing, the class is enthusiastic about learning! The low- ratings for social life and cost of living have much to do with being a graduate student in South Florida. Rent is high, but I also do not have a full time job. As for a social life, I enjoy learning (and reading my texts, believe it or not...) so much that it takes up most of my time. Neither of those two things should reflect poorly on Nova's program."

"Pros: Professors do have an open door policy. The professors are extremely accommodating to students who need to meet to further discuss class topics. Nova offers tips on resume building and offers a lot of networking opportunities. The school has a variety of campus organizations who host different functions, which are attended by attorneys, judges, members of the legislature. Cons: Not a lot of scholarships are offered through the school."

"The pros is that it is an an established program that combines a traditional curriculum with developing skills used by attorneys on a daily basis. I find that aspect of the program to be valuable. The con is that the the technological infrastructure can be improved. The wireless network is something to be desired."

"Overall I feel very optimistic about the graduate program I am currently enrolled. I plan to obtain a residency in psychiatric pharmacy after completing my Doctor of Pharmacy and have already started research with the residency director at NSU. The program integrates new technology with traditional teaching styles. My incoming class was the first class required to have an iPad in which we take exams on and many use in class to take notes rather than paper and pen. They also broadcast lectures to two different sites in West Palm Beach and Ponce, Puerto Rico. The professors all have an open door policy, making it easy to create relationships with faculty members. The program not only focuses on teaching future pharmacists their role in the health care industry but also the skills we need to be leaders in the industry. They try to teach students how to put up a professional front which is an ever so important component in the health care system. Although NSU is not one of the top rated pharmacy schools as they are not a huge research university, I do feel their focus on our education is outstanding."

"I believe that my graduate program is an excellent one. The professors are very knowledgeable in their given field and want the students to succeed. The only downfall of this program is that it is not CACREP accredited while it is accredited by the APA."

"I received my Master's from Nova and now I am working on my Doctorate degree. I love attending Nova. This institution believes in coaching and providing guidance to help students reach their fullest potential. The student's success is very important at Nova and finishing your program of studies means a lot at this school. There are several areas in the survey I have not experienced at Nova; therefore, I can't provide a rating at this time."
