"Our Lady of the Lake was a great university. I received an education that I am proud of. They offered not only academic programs, but had (at the time) intramural sports, an amazing student government program, and even a student sharing program with a sister school in Japan. We had a lot of social activities both on campus and in the community. There was basically something for everyone. I really wish that I had taken part in more of these activities."

"You will definitely get counseling experience in this program through practicum and internship the last two years of the three year program, but it's very expensive since this is a private university."

"Relaxing, cozy campus. Great programs. Knowledgeable teachers. At OLLU you are not just a number. Near many eateries."

"I applied to OLLU and from the very start, I loved it. The admissions process was easy and the counselor was amazing and always willing to hep me with my questions and continued to reach out to me throughout my admissions process. My classes were already designed for me and my advisor enrolled me in my classes each term so I didn't have to worry about that. The professors were incredible helpful as well. They always got back to me within 24 hours and if they couldn't they made sure I knew they would be out of office well in advance. Although I did not complete my degree, I would recommend this university to anyone looking to complete an MSW."

"Pros: Student to teacher ratio is 3:1 which is perfect to get more of a teacher one on one. Also love how my school pushes us to get involved outside of school in our field of interest which gives us a more hands on knowledge. Cons: Very expensive and hard to get funds for."

"The program offered an amazing educational experience. I love how the faculty was completely supportive and always there to challenge me. On the other hand, I think the program would have been more helpful if they had a few more professors on staff. It would have been nice to see more diversity among the faculty."

"The good thing about OLLU's graduate program is that the small class sizes allows for one-on-one interaction with professors. Also, the program covers a wide range of topics related to the field, including marketing, accounting, economics, and business law."

"My graduate program was designed as a full time program for students who also work full time; I am successfully doing both. The workload is reasonable and the faculty in the program are knowledgeable and supportive. The program is in the works of becoming NASP accredited with will undoubtedly make it more competitive than it currently is. The School Psychology MS program, is three years; one of which includes a paid internship. I love that this program does everything in its power to help students achieve. All faculty in the program have PhDs and guest speakers are frequently brought in. We recently had an in depth review of the WISC-V from one of the researchers at Pearson. The only cons about the program would be the area of the city my school is located on and the cost (it's private), however those seem like a minor inconveniences considering the education and experiences I am receiving."

"The School Psychology graduate program is fantastic. This is one of the few programs where you're still a person and not a number, or a ranking. The faculty do care about YOUR professional development, and not their personal career goals (e.g., tenure). Great "human" program!"

"The graduate program is Federally designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution, OLLU has the highest percentage of Hispanic enrollment at both the undergraduate (63 percent) and graduate (54 percent) levels of all Catholic universities in the country. In addition, OLLU is among the top 60 public and private universities nationwide to award master's degrees to Hispanics. More than half of OLLU's undergraduate students complete an internship. The University also maintains a counseling center and a speech and hearing clinic to serve area residents while providing students valuable clinical experience working with real clients."

"The graduate social work program is time friendly, for the simple fact that if a student acquires their bachelors in the social work program at Our Lady of the Lake University (a private institution) the masters program is only a year long. This is both feasible and financially beneficial for the student, I am living proof."

"Our Lady of the Lake has many rigorous and valuable graduate programs but I only have personal knowledge of the School Psychology program. I believe it to be very worthy of a serious student interested in working with children in a school setting."

"The Masters in Psychology program is a pretty small program, which means individualized attention from the professors. Tuition is fair for a private institution, especially since the professors do everything they can to give free materials to assist students in their education. My only complaint is the lack of real direction in terms of career path."
