"I love that Pacific Oaks is based on Quaker Philosophy which embraces and acknowledges the whole person and experience as part of the education. The staff is very supportive and the campus is very comfortable and supports a learning environment. Networking with staff and my fellow students is a very successful career strategy."

"Pacifics Oaks is a great school. Lots of diversity, culture-centered curriculum to help me as a future marriage and family therapist and good classroom interaction. It is a smaller school, so if you are looking for a lot of research opportunities and such that you might find at a larger school then it's not such a great fit. Otherwise I'm happy so far with my experience at Pacific Oaks."

"The Marriage and Family Therapy program is a rigorous academic program that trains us to look especially at social just and cultural diversity. We are being trained differently from other programs in that while we are clinicians, we are also trained to see the client as a human and what true empathy looks like."

"I love the MFT graduate program at Pacific Oaks because of the flexibility of the classes, the supportive and motivating instructors and the family feel you get from the school staff. It's the best decision I have made educationally."

"The program is directly invested in my interest of its academic field. It focuses on early childhood education which was an area I wanted in my graduate program. The cons may relate to technical errors that rarely occur. No major problems involved otherwise. I am very satisfied with this school and its program."

"Pacific Oaks College offers a wonderful program for non-traditional students and is a supportive, inclusive environment. The emphasis on child-centered education is a refreshing change and has strengthened my desire to work in a classroom as a career. The online classes are a little hit-or-miss--I've had good ones and not so good ones. I highly recommend the on-ground program! I am currently in a hybrid program and the flexibility of completing some courses online and some courses on campus is convenient."

"The graduate program has a variety of ways to earn your degree which works for those students who must have full-time employment. I do wish the teachers has less students so they could respond more on your assignments."

"If you are looking for a challenging program and actually have a BA in psychology, this is not the program for you. Everything is so dumbed down, it's ridiculous. This program is great because it allows for people to go into a Masters program without getting a BA, but for those who do have one, it's worthless. They also value feelings over facts, which can get very annoying. However, the teachers are generally very nice and open and there are no tests, just papers."

"Great program to study because it goes beyond theories, it's a hands on program that helps future therapist to be multicultural sensitive and respectful to understand the clients background. The cons is a very expensive program"

"The pros about PO is the culture, environment, and faculty support. It is a small campus so one becomes very familiar with a lot of the staff and faculty. They have a good student support system. The cons are they're still trying to get organized since they are now under the Chicago School of Psychology. Another con is that if you do the self-paced program, it is designed so that you do not finish in under 2 years even if you wanted too."
