The Solstice MFA in Writing is was my first choice in grad schools, combining academic rigor and top-notch faculty, affordability, diversity in both students and faculty, and professional development. It also provides immersive campus residencies and online, semester-long learning with a faculty mentors.
The only con, as with most low-residency MFAs, is being unable to be fully funded via traditional programs like on-campus teaching assistanceships. So motivated grad students like me need to be creative in seeking scholarship opportunities, such as the one offered by graduateprograms.com.
