"Fantastic researchers and great research resources. Cognitive psychology area is small and lacks diversity. Could provide more support for professional development, but the area seems to be working on this."

"Great professors, they really try and do their best to help you. Great working environment too. However, not much to do in West Laffayette and it can get pretty lonely for a grad student."

"Purdue's graduate programs are great, the surrounding area isn't so much. However, its a one or two hour drive to fun places."

"I'm a veterinary student and I feel as though this school is the best bang for the buck! Great professors, with a few exceptions... but in general most of the staff is here to help you succeed"

"Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of my graduate program. The courseload is especially heavy through the first three semesters, but this is to provide more time to focus on research later in the program."

"Safety is good. Hardware is just so so. Funding is less than enough. Professors are desired. Not in a big city so the cost of living is good but..."

"High quality education. Courses can be difficult at times, but are of very high quality and you get a lot out of them. Most research facilities are top notch and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in research, even as an undergrad. Finding funding as a graduate students (i.e. tuition reimbursement and stipends) is relatively easy, though of course it depends on the field."

"Overall, seating in a quiet small town, Purdue is place for academic study. Boiler Up."

"The department is great about financial support, but the campus and town is just not the best coming from Indiana University and Bloomington. The divide with the Wabash River separates us from the rest of the college community, which is sometimes good but often bad. The emphasis on research in the EAPS program however is overall quite good and encourages students to acquire a multitude of skill sets."

"Overall Purdue's Physics graduate program has been a bit of a ride. As with any program getting a good advisor is vital to navigating toward a degree. The coursework and subsequent research are fun and help develop students to become good researchers themselves. The main drawback is that a good advisor isn't always available and recourse for poor advising is little to nothing. Advice: Definitely attend if you have someone to work with, otherwise try to contact potential advisors to see if they have/will have openings and how to get a position with them."

"The Brian Lamb School of Communication is a great school with many well-known and approachable faculty members. There are about 100 students in the graduate school, most of whom are funded by teaching assistantships. We received extensive training for teaching and began our teaching career as a graduate student by teaching our own introductory classes. The graduate classes can be quite difficult, but this is what it takes to become a professor in the future. People in West Lafayette are extremely friendly and are always willing to help."

"I have really enjoyed the flexibility that my program has allowed me. I have been able to take both communication theory classes as well as Krannert (our business school) applied leadership and communication classes. I think this has prepared me well for the workforce."

"Purdue University is a good school overall, but my particular department can leave much to be desired. There's a lot of competition and not a lot of support from faculty to students. I have great relationships with fellow students and most faculty, but there are just enough faculty members with poor social skills that make it a tough environment overall. If I had it to do over, I am not sure I would choose this program at this school again. However, I learned a lot in my field, and I learned what kind of environment is not for me for my career."
