I've started looking around at Masters programs and came across this review site. The reviews have been quite helpful so I thought I'd quickly write one for Regis University since I completed my undergrad there.

First off, I would absolutely consider one of Regis's Masters programs if I weren't told by several people that it was taboo and looked bad on resumes. I believe someone called it Diploma or Unviersity Incest. Whatever it may be called it's a personal choice not to attain grad and undergrad... Read More

My personal experience with Regis Unviersity was fantastic. I spent several months researching Bachelors in Computer Science programs and I specifically wanted one that required higher level math courses. Not all CS degrees are equal and I saw some that were just pitifully weak in curriculum and others that were just poorly administered, i.e. video recordings of classes. Regis, at the time, used an online education site called WebCT. I believe they were bought out by Blackboard around the time I graduated. At Regis they believe strongly in both applied and theoretical study as well as student interactions. All courses required at least one research paper which, though painful, expanded our knowledge of the subject material substantially by promoting that extremely potent mixture of application and theory. The online tools are easy to use and I'm sure they're even better now than when I graduated back in 2007. Most of the professors were exceptional, and I really can't complain about any aspect of my education there. I believe they even have three programs that are ABET accredited and that says something.

For online degrees under $1,000/credit, Regis University stands afront all of its peers.

Degree:

Overall, I recommend the Regis University online graduate program. The program has a strong ethics component which was attractive to me. The technology they use is also modern and user-friendly. To be successful you do need to be self-reliant. Course facilitators are available for phone calls but the online nature prevents deep interaction.

Strong reading and writing skills will help make this successful. As is the case with most colleges, some of the faculty were terrific while others seemed a bit... Read More

After attending two other online schools, I was finally satisfied with Regis. The academic standards upheld by the university transfer to the online program. That trait doesn't always transfer to non-traditional programs. I liked having the option of doing my classes on-ground if necessary. Regis is a good institution and one in which I am proud to call myself alum.

I really enjoyed the time spent earning my MBA. While it was challenging, and sometimes frustrating, it was well worth it once I was finished. These are some really tough economic times now, so it's important to bolster your knowledge base and resume as best you can in order to remain competitive in the job market. My Regis MBA has helped me to do that. Regis is well known for its quality education and emphasis of service to others. When you combine those two things with a solid business education,... In short, the program was demanding at times, especially the first two foundation courses. Those two courses were a whirlwind of different knowledge bases needed to be competent in the realm of business. Coincidentally, they were also two of the more rigorous courses during the program. Every other class was meaningful and relevant, but required extensive study. One of the things I liked most about the Regis MBA program was its learning model. The curriculum was designed in a way to teach best and current business practices, teaching ethical behavior as a result of the school's jesuit background all the way. The majority of the faculty were working professionals with extensive experience and academic knowledge.

I feel this is an extremely effective teaching method and it helped me greatly during my time there. To culminate your B-School experience, you take a capstone course at the end of the program to summarize the things you've learned. Without divulging too much information, you work with other students managing a virtual company. This is both challenging and rewarding. If you're looking to break into Wall Street as a financial consultant, you may want to look elsewhere. However, if you're looking to gain practical and relevant business knowledge and help boost your resume for increased responsibility and career growth, then Regis is a great option.

Degree:

Regis is a good school, but one has to be careful with the degree one picks as the major. There are few degrees that are fully online, and most of those are computer degrees. The other degrees require classroom classes, and the classes are during the week and at night. For a stay-at-home mom of a toddler like myself whose husband works until midnight, it's impossible to attend those classes since it's impossible to find child care for those hours. So unfortunately I personally have to transfer to... Read More

Regis University has perfected the art of online education. I began my online experience with a large competitor and I felt like a number. Regis's smaller classes and more personal attention to me, made me feel like I was a actually part of the campus life. Not to mention, their price was much more affordable!

Through email and instant messenger functions, I was able to keep in close contact with my classmates and my professors. Questions were answered promptly and with the detail one would expect... Read More

The classes I took, complete with online examples and interactive sessions, made full use of IT technology. My degree brought me an instant pay raise at work and I now have the potential to move as far as I want.
