Much emphasis on research (two classes for grad program) and writing academic-style papers for all classes. However, I don't see this type of writing in the workplace. More actual communication is done by PowerPoint, memos, public speaking and conference calls and webinars. Could re-direct efforts to helping with those types of presentations and writing).

As I am just starting, I cannot make adequate comparisons due to lack of comparison. However I can say that the faculty have been extremely supportive. Taking the time to guide me through what is to me, an overwhelming process. I have not been in school since the 90's and did not know what to expect. They have been very helpful with walking me through what I need to know. Because my classes are all on-line I feel the greatest con is really not knowing any of my classmates, except by what I read of them on-line. Ironically, the class work being on line is also a "pro" since it allows me to continue my family's routine and work schedule.
