"Obtaining a masters degree in biomedical sciences has open the doors to enhance my professional skills in today's work force. I am able to pursue research positions as well as clinical. I am also better prepared to pursue a medical degree and continue to improve myself to help my community. This is an exciting time to pursue education and fulfill our dreams. I strongly encourage all students who have a dream to pursue it with all their mind and heart and you will be surprised at what you can accomplish. Good luck to all!"

  • Degree: Social Work
"Rutgers social work program is rated among the top five programs in the United States. The nigh standard that the program has makes it a very competitive one in the northern region of New Jersey .The social work program at Rutgers State University is excellent. Located at the heart of one of the most diverse cities in the northern New Jersey region, the social work program at the university is extremely diverse, which makes a great environment to teach many of the classes that are required by the program. The faculty is very experienced who are highly respected and work hard in the community. I would recommend Rutgers State University to anyone who wants to attend a school with great diversity and highly experienced staff."

"The Rutgers EMBA program selects highly competent and successful business professionals who wish to further their education in an intense 20 month program covering major business topics in Statistics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Sales and Small Business Planning. The hallmark of the program is the cooperative atmosphere reminiscent of the educational philosophy of John Dewey. Rutgers EMBA students truly work together and learn together in a proactive and positive environment. While earning good grades is important, it is secondary to learning the material and working well with your classmates. It is truly a great program."

"The Grad program at Rutgers University - Newark Is one the best in the country for the study of History. The Federated History Department allows cross-over between Rutgers and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (which is quite literally right-next-door), allowing a History student access to an even greater array of courses and professors. RU-N, while being a public university, is not afraid of taking a stand when civil liberties are challenged. Their level of communication with the student body, both graduate and undergraduate, is exceptional and the cultural diversity on campus is outstanding."

"The doctor of physical therapy program of Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey deserves its distinction among the very best physical therapy programs in the country. The faculty were excellent, the coursework was challenging and really prepares you for work in the physical therapy field, the small class size leads to a reliance and trust in your classmates that would be difficult to replicate anywhere else, and the opportunities for clinical experience and research are numerous and high quality. If you are granted acceptance, cherish the opportunity to go to school here."

"My University is fantastic when it comes to educating students on the curriculum however, when it comes to finding a suitable career that allows you to pay back your student loan debt, they are not very helpful. I love the environment, they encourage humanitarian efforts and have options to pick and choose courses that interest you. Although I made my plans for pursuing a career in Dentistry clear to my professors and I demonstrated academic excellence by maintaining a 3.4 GPA, I was still unable to even get an interview into their Rutgers dental program. I have secured a seat at a different university but as Rutgers alumni I would have liked to have a bit of acknowledgement from the alma mater."

Personal and professional growth through internships was my best experience. I'm currently pursuing my Masters degree in Public Administration & Public Policy. With an Nonprofit management concentration. I look forward to becoming a vehicle of service to my community."

  • Degree: Criminal Justice
"Upon taking on a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, I recall the workload began light however as classes progressed, so did the workload. Research papers were more burdensome and more research had to be done in order to sound like I knew what I was a subject matter expert. Assignments had to be turned in on time, either via blackboard, a online software to upload assignments that were checked through their systems for plagiarism. Attendance was a critical portion of the student's grade; a lot of information was put out during our discussions. Although, I worked tirelessly, the end result of achieving this cumbersome, overwhelming task was satisfying once I walked the stage in cap and gown. It was all worth it."

"The graduate program for the MAT is rather demanding. The teachers are usually accessible. I do not believe that there is much support as there should be from the Education department. The history department's support is excellent though! Occasionally, the workload for a single class can be overbearing, and at other times it is light. The work load rarely falls in the middle."

"The biggest pro of the program is the accessibility of both professors and advisers. I actually founded the GSBS Pre-Medical Society in which it was necessary for me to interact them on a weekly basis and found that they were easy to contact via email and in person. The cons of the program are that the courses offered are limited, the campus and surrounding area are unsafe, and there are no on campus dining options. For a campus that is located in a very dangerous city, Newark, it is appalling that they would not have multiple dining options within the building in order to keep students on campus and relatively safe. Also, the website used by the school to register for courses and look at financial aid is extremely difficult to use. I am a very tech savvy person, however these websites are not user friendly and require one to browse around for an extended period of time in order to find what they are looking for."

"My graduate department is a very small one. Now with a small department there can be pros as well as cons. Since its small, there is a warm family-ish feeling between everybody, everyone knows everyone personally but there's a lot of competition for grants, travel aids, funding and such. This leads to some tension amongst grad students the moment a funding award is announced ! There never seems to be enough for everyone. Space is a problem but most departments on the Newark campus share floors and buildings. The diversity of the program is fantastic ! Its been great making friends from various countries across the world and learning about new cultures(and of course food). The graduate school offers a lot of support to its students and help them in every possible way, at every instance which is a great thing about this program."

"Rutgers University-Newark's Doctor of Physical Therapy program is excellent! The professors genuinely care about their students and take the time to meet with them one-on-one if they have any questions or concerns regarding the material. The workers in the financial aid office are very knowledgeable and are more than willing to help you. My only concern with this campus is its location in Newark."

"The program is great for students who wish to pursue a degree in healthcare. Students can take medical and dental school courses alongside the dental students to give them exposure to those fields. In addition, students have the opportunity to cultivate relationships with the faculty by working in their labs alongside PhD. students. The program is a great program and I recommend students to join the program."

"Rutgers offers programs that fit the needs of a wide variety of people - both professionals and students alike. The Flex MBA program boasts a diverse crowd, hailing from all industries and functions. It's been great to learn so much about classmates' day to day, responsibilities and ambitions and goals. The program isn't as competitive as it maybe could be for such a great university."

"Everything about the program is great, but the area around campus is that fantastic. Students are always getting crime alerts. Granted, many of these are off campus, but it still makes you not want to walk around by yourself at night."

"This program is a great value and offers the flexibility of being able to pursue it on a part-time basis. Unfortunately, many part-time students miss out on participating in networking events and club activities during the day because of employment commitments."
