"Sacred Heart's online program is ultimately worthwhile, however some of the professors left a lot to be desired, and it appeared that overall the online program was given a lot less thought than physical programs."

"This university has made positive strides in expansion since I graduated. The student body is now given much more opportunity and the campus has swiftly begun to catch up with its peers (Quinnipiac, etc)."

"Everyone at Sacred Heart University has been very helpful, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I am new to the school and have not had a problem seeking out answers to all of my questions. Staff and faculty are readily available to answer questions by phone, e-mail, or in person. Every time I have called an office on campus, a knowledgeable person has answered to help me. I highly recommend the Graduate Open House. I was sold immediately to the school's program upon learning about the quality of the program and the faculty. I even met with a professor one-on-one during the Open House session!"

"The pros and cons of our program really depend on the district you are placed in as a student teacher. Education today is an ever-shifting trial and error ball that goes bouncing around the country. Connecticut has no idea what works, thus it changes every 9 years or so. Like most real-world prep. programs, there just are not enough connection to the actual field. Furthermore, the structure of Sacred Heart is good in the matter of prepping their students for the excess hurdles that come in (hopefully) AFTER you become employed; such as prepping for TEAM or the new SBAC tests."

"My program is located off of main campus in a satellite building. The program is competitive and intense as I would expect it to be with graduate school. The professors are wonderful and accessible both in and out of school if need be. The area the school is located in is not the most ideal and is expected that the program will move in the next few years to accommodate for increase need for space."

"The pros are that the program has a variety of courses available at times that work for students who work full time. In the education program, it is very helpful that the school allows students to continue their graduate studies as certified teachers. This allows someone in my situation who received an undergraduate degree and state certification to return to graduate school after a few years of teaching experience. The cons are that the school workload can sometimes become overwhelming for someone who works full time."

"The most relevant courses were taught by the Adjunct Professors. The Adjunct Professors I had at Sacred Heart were educators who were working in the field of education in surrounding communities. They brought real life experience and knowledge to the classroom and overall provided excellent instruction. In contrast, the professors I had who were full time employees of the university generally provided a lower level of instruction. They lacked the level of professionalism, organization and quality of instruction I was expecting from a graduate program of study."

"The teachers of this university are great . Very easy to get in contact with them and are very passionate about their teaching and really wants all of their students to succeed. The only con I can think of is lacking diversity amongst the campus ."

"In Puerto Rico it is very frustating to star a master's Degree, because it will shut down lots of opportunities."

"The program provides you with essential tools in order to become a media "know-it-all". Cameras and laptops are provided."
