"I attended the Pharmaceutical Marketing MBA program, which was mostly online but featured a few 3 day residencies at conference centers in the Philadelphia area. The program itself is well known in the pharma industry, and the university is able to draw decent (but not great) industry speakers into the classroom on occasion. As others have said, most of the professors were pretty knowledgeable. However, the case studies they used were very out of date and so the mindset was stuck in the 1990s Rx/White Pill mentality that is not relevant to today's specialty-focused industry dynamics. I found most of the professors very accessible, and I would definitely encourage anyone entering this program to take advantage of it. The problem I ran into was the lack of communication and engagement post-graduation. I tried on numerous occasions to interact with my professors and program leadership after I got my MBA to speak to students and help update course material by perhaps becoming an adjunct professor, and was rebuffed/blown off consistently. I got the impression that this program was really just designed to get cohorts educated, out the door and forgotten about as quickly as possible so the next "herd" could be brought in to repeat the cycle. It's unfortunate that this program's leadership doesn't leverage its alumni to help build the future of the program. But, I should say, these same professors never hesitated to reach out when THEY needed something from ME. And of course let's not forget about the alumni donation process (that worked very well!). It's really sad to see a once-tremendous, cutting edge, and respected program age so badly."

"The quality of instruction was very hit and miss: some instructors were quite professional, with thorough knowledge of their field of study and an eager desire to share it with their students, but others were resistant to provide any help or clarification, even if asked politely. The Psychology department does not have a prestigious reputation: one professor told me that they are far more used to being rejected by students than they are with rejecting student applications. If you are looking for emotional support while going through the rigors of a degree program, this is not a good option either: one experience left a strong mark on me. I would not recommend this program."

"SJU has a smaller campus located in West Philadelphia. The campus itself is beautiful but the surrounding area is decent, if you go one way on City Ave there are mansions but if you go the other way its the ghettos. Students at SJU are very involved, with 90% of students participating in some sort of community service. The classes are generally small sized, and for the most part the professors are approachable and nice. In terms of health science majors, I felt that the options for classes and times were limited compared to bigger schools. SJU is a close knit community so most of the social aspect depends on what you are involved in, who you connect with in class, or if you are in Greek life. There is no football team so no tailgating or anything, but they have a decent basketball team that students will go to see. Most of the action as an upperclassman is in Manayunk on the bars on main street or house parties off campus. The students at Saint Joe's are very homogenous, being mostly white richer Catholic kids, many of which went to private high school. It is mandatory to live on campus the first two years but after then a lot of students move into Manayunk, which is about a 15 min drive from campus. SJU is definitely more of a business school, with most people majoring in accounting, finance and marketing. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Saint Joe's, I personally would've preferred a bigger campus but everyone is very nice at this school and the actual education provided is very good!"

"Saint Joseph's was a great school that helped me in many ways with regards to learning more about humanities and becoming a worldly individual. Although my overall experience was not excellent, it was a good choice for undergraduate that offered many positive experiences. I'm happy that I attended Saint Joseph's as it was how I met many of best friend and close colleagues who are open-minded and caring individuals. The culture is very friendly and open; people have a certain warmth to them there."

"some professors are terrible. Some classes were merely the professor reading the powerpoint slides that came with the book."

"The Health Administration graduate program at St. Joseph's University not only provides me with specific courses in the field I love, but it has definitely expanded my network! I'm fortunate enough to live in the same city as this great university, so I decided to take advantage of the on-campus program. The classes have been fairly small thus far (10 - 12 people) so we get individualized attention and we get to bounce ideas off of other budding administrators who are already working in the health care environment. Most of the faculty members are also full-time executives so we are learning from people who are putting these skills into practice every day. It is tough sometimes to juggle full-time work with the 5-week summer classes, but it's a great exercise in prioritizing and time management."

"I feel that my school is willing to work with me and answer any questions that I may personally have. I I have a person which I can email and get any question answered. I have easy access to research as well as meeting new people daily. Cons living so far that I am not always stuck in traffic. This is a school that works with you and wants what is best for you in the long run."

"St. Joe's accelerated pharmacy program is truly exceptional. Their novelistic approach to teaching the intense curriculum allows all the students to successfully learn the copious amount of material needed to pass the state pharmacy exams. The curriculum is taught in a block schedule with all of the class moving at the same pace. Tests are administered every other week. The staff is extremely helpful and will do anything to get all students to pass. This program will definitely prepare all students to be a successful and professional pharmacist. The school is located in downtown Hartford. While it is a little more expensive to live in the area, there is the downtown nightlife and hangouts."

"The pros of this Masters Program at St. Joesph's are the small size of the graduate program and the availability of the professors. The professors are very passionate about what they teach. The cons are the lack of scholarships given to graduate students and that there is no accelerated track for full-time teachers."

"Education - Grades 4th -8th (new program) Overall, my experience at SJU was great. At first, I was nervous about going back to school (graduated undergrad in 2010 with a BS in Health Sciences, then spent 2 years working at a daycare because I didn't know what I wanted to do), especially because I had always been intimidated by school. My anxiety got worse as I learned that much of my grades depended on participating in class discussions, which was not a forte of mine. However, that all went away during my first class. The professors create a comfortable and safe environment, and they treat you as colleagues. What I mean is that the professors make us, the students, feel like we're all working together to help better our classroom management methods or establishing rapport with our own students, or trying to find ways to cope with flaws in the education system. I have never been close to my professors in undergrad and I was surprised to find that my SJU professors remembered my name after only one semester, and through the end of my program. Additionally, the advisors and directors of certification and student teaching have been extremely helpful; whether it's going through the certification process with you step by step or finding a student teaching placement that fits you, the staff really takes their time to ensure your success. I have also been told multiple times from my professors and advisors to keep in touch while I'm working so they follow my success to see what they can do to not only improve their Education program, but even to help me grow as a teacher. I love this because they are making the effort to keep improving and reflect on what works and what could be better to make sure SJU education students are prepared for their field. Thank you, SJU. Go Hawks!"

"I truly enjoyed my time at this university. The only issues I had a long with way with both my senior undergraduate years and in my graduate years were with the advising departments. The were unorganized and expected the students to do navigate their way through an ever-changing system. When help was requested by myself and several other students, a sarcastic remark was often received, especially in the graduate school advising department. This school is expensive and this is the last issue one would expect to receive when trying to register for a class or plan for future classes."

"A pro of the graduate program at the University of Saint Joseph in Hartford, CT is that it is year round and the student takes one course at a time. It allows the student to study one topic and fully understand the material before moving on to the next. A con of the program is that it is very expensive, but all graduate schools are expensive. There are not a lot of scholarships available also since the Pharmacy program is new. Overall, it is a great field of study and will be a wonderful career. Any scholarships would help the process and make it even more enjoyable."

"The accelerated program is nice in the sense that I will finish in three years and be able to work sooner but the downside is the intensity of the work load and curriculum."
