Degree: Healthcare Administration

Overall, I would recommend SLU. I have graduated with my AA in Criminal Justice & my BS in Health Care Administration. Overall, my professors have been understanding and accommodating with the different life events that occurred during my duration of coursework. I really like how the coursework is posted in advance so that you can plan ahead and that instructors do not grade too harshly (although some do). I liked how there weren't any proctored exams either!

The staff at saint leo absolutely sucks. No one ever knows what’s going on, the price is ridiculous to simply just go sit in a class to hear professors talk about non sense that has nothing to do with the class. Now while some people do like sitting in class and not doing anything I do not. I learned absolutely nothing at this school. Definitely not getting the education you are paying for and in the long run you will be screwed over. They keep adding fees on my tuition and can’t tell me what the... Read More

I don't write reviews, but this needed one. This is a terrible university. It has gone downhill very fast and is at rock bottom. Do not waste your time and/or money at SLU. The idiots running it and most of the new student body have ruined the good reputation around the Tampa Bay, Florida area and beyond as well as in the military. It had a lot of money which it used to expand its properties and beautify the campus, but it is a God-awful institution. DO NOT GO TO SAINT LEO UNIVERSITY! USF and UT... Read More

I like the flexibility of the program and the fact that I get a US degree which does not mention it is online is really good. Credit transfer option is also available so that is an added advantage - if I wish to go to the US for further studies I have that option. The curriculum is up to date, which is especially important considering I am pursuing Digital Marketing. The best part is, I have already been employed in an agency as a digital marketing executive and I can implement everything I learn... Read More

Their online MBA is a scam. I've had so far only 2 teachers who were SOMEWHAT knowledgeable about the topic they were teaching. The rest of "professors" are fake - you can't find them anywhere on Linkedin, and if you do, their profiles have nothing in the "education" field in LinkedIn, or,at best, their "PhDs" are from an online university with a 100% acceptance rate. More often than not you get "professors" who have no idea about the topics they are teaching. In addition, if you are lucky enough... Read More

I’ll start with saying that in 2019, the government put out that all students affected by classes switching to online that couldn’t be taken in person anymore would not effect BAH rates. Saint Leo closed it’s satellite campuses without informing veterans that they were not eligible for this law because Saint Leo closed down our campuses for financial reasons, not Covid reasons, and hid it from us so that we wouldn’t transfer. Second; it’s been two years since I have had a conversation with a professor.... Read More

As wonderful as the campus of the university is, I cannot say the same thing in relation to students. First of all, student success coaches are not reachable. When freshmen (especially, international freshmen) need to register for classes, student success coaches do not pick up the phone or respond to the emails. Second of all, the university always looks for a way to make money of the students. This year, for example, the university implemented a mandatory health center fee (note: not related to... I had to drop a class due to a medical issue. There was some friction, but it was tolerable. Unfortunately, I had to discontinue a second class--also due to a documented medical issue--and this time I am being charged nearly 2000 DOLLARS for a class of which I received NO BENEFIT! I have been fighting the inconsistent application of their policy FOR 18 MONTHS! I cant transfer, I cant register, I cant move on. I have contacted the school nearly 100 times and have been given the run-around for nearly... Read More

The undergraduate program and living on campus is fantastic. Professors are great, you are encouraged to stay active and involved, and there is a huge focus on leadership development. However, I began my master's course online and seeing how I am a happy alumni from here I figured it'd be a good program. It is absolutely horrendous. This experience was not at all what I got from my undergrad. The professors are complete bigots who think they are God and treat you like a peasant although you are already... Read More

Degree: MSW

First, let me say, the faculty on staff for the online MSW program are excellent. They are responsive and will offer help, if needed. The adjunct faculty are hit or miss. Some are horrible and some are good. The biggest problem with this program is their internships. They don't have the relationships they promised to have. I think if you are near Tampa, maybe, but outside of Tampa, it was horrible. I have spoken with others in the program and they agree with this. Honestly, I cannot recommend this... Read More

I only took one class a Saint Leo, it was very expensive. I was told I could just make payments on my student account which I did and then was told the account was credited due to covid 19 to later check my credit and see that my account was sent to collections. All during covid 19 Saint Leo is a horrible school any only cares about their pockets. If you are looking for a school to care about you and help you make payments on an account Saint Leo is not it!

READ BEFORE YOU DECIDE. I received my bachelor's degree from St Leo on line in 2005. It was paid in full. I received my very impressive degree in the mail. Two years later I decided to go back for my masters. I reapply and of course get in (3.9 GPA for my bach). I started getting charged for fees that I had no idea what they were for. The state I work for was paying the bill for my masters. When I could not figure out why I was getting charged extra fees the state thought this school was a scam and... Read More

Some of the classes were OK but some of them are really bad and need updating. The marketing class should be scrapped. It was by far the worst class I have ever taken. It is also group based and we had one member that could not even write in complete sentences. So it seems you can just pay for a degree and not apply yourself. The teachers are just facilitating and most don't add any value to the class each term other than babysitting. Resources are not available. Totally different experience than... Read More

Degree: Social Work

I urge you to reconsider if you are looking for an online MSW and you do not have a BSW. I found the text to be insufficient, faculty to be unresponsive,  they have ZERO relationships for internships so you will likely have to settle for a volunteer job and have faculty "supervise" you.  The graduate academic work is nonsense and pointless , supports are minimal and confusing to obtain. I would encourage you to look elsewhere.

A horrible experience from the start. No one you talk to knows what is happening or why. From the Dean of the program to the financial services people- none of them can fully explain even their own portion of the program. Classes are beyond simple, professors are 50/50 either awesome or obviously just there to pay a bill and don't care what you get from them.
