"Pros- the faculty really cares about the subjects and the students and present difficult subjects in easy to understand ways. Cons- not really so far outside"

"The program is exceptional although at times the workload can be a bit much. The classes are great and the professors are knowledgeable and will work with you to help you understand. The professors are not always full-time professors but they are always available via e-mail and most give out their personal contact information so that it is easier for students to get in contact with them should the need arise."

"The Higher Education program has quality faculty members that take an active interest in student success. They understand that many students enrolled in the program are also employed full time and therefore the class times are conducive to working individuals. My faculty adviser was with me each step of the way."

"Saint Louis University is highly-more selective when accepting students. This in of its self is a great advantage for all applicants!! Pros of being a SLU student are limitless. I have enjoyed the flexibility, networking, professional resources provided to me from my professors, peers, various departments, and financial aid has been great! ( I would love more but the amount I was given has met all of my needs) Cons were very few. Being a great student requires lots of sweat equity to maintain a stellar GPA. My only con would be to have more assistance but realistically that could be impossible. Staff members have called/e-mailed me outside of normal hours just to follow up with me. The service provided by them to me has been helpful to my peace of mind. My experience may be exceptional but I can honestly say that SLU goes above and beyond to help meet the needs of their students. Thanks."

"If you plan to work in the Saint Louis area it is a great program to be a part due to the large network of Alumni in the area. It is the first year of this program but is very beneficial if you want to do any type of business analytical work. It seems to be tailored to shadow the topics in the CFA Program."

"Pros: small program with professors who are really interested in their students; you get to know everyone in the program so there's a good sense of community; knowledgeable faculty from many different areas of the healthcare industry Cons: not sure how strong the alumni network is (although they're working to improve this); all classes are three hours long and because the program is so small, there isn't much room for adjusting your schedule; career services could be improved"

"I am in my first year of Law School at SLU and so far have really enjoyed the experience. I know SLU is not ranked very highly on the "magic" US News & World Reports ranking system, but I chose to attend for their #1 Health Law Program and for the great scholarship opportunity. I was awarded entry to and visited other schools, many in the Top 50, a few in the Top 20, and still chose SLU for the warmness of the faculty and students and their sincere interests in advancing the career of health law. I think if you want to practice in Missouri or the surrounding area, SLU has a very good local reputation, perhaps even better than that of Washington University, the local Top 20 school. I wouldn't recommend it for people who eventually want to move out of the area or practice in a field other than health law, where SLU's network really shines. I can't compare it to any other law school because I haven't attended any other schools; however, I think the education I have received so far has been top notch and if SLU is having some internal problems in their E-suite, it really doesn't affect student life. There are plenty of drinking and partying opportunities if you are into that kind of stuff. I would like to see more student activities that DON'T involve getting stupid drunk; the student "clubs" don't really seem to do much in the way of actually networking or advancing our legal skills. Nonetheless, I would recommend SLU to anybody who was interested."

"I'm in SLU's biomedical research program. Although my lab is excellent and the faculty are helpful and available, my overall impression of SLU is not great. There's very little social interaction, even within departments. There's incredibly little support for career choices outside of the standard research track. Many of the graduate level courses I took here at SLU were actually at a lower level than the undergraduate courses that I took elsewhere. Additionally, administrative organization is lacking. Essential information for students is often unclear even to the administration and the faculty (e.g. departmental requirements for graduation, paperwork that needs to be filled out for enrollment, etc.)."
