"Don't let the cost get you down, my experience at SU was one to remember and continues to benefit me on a daily basis. Amazing faculty and staff, good food, decent housing, and a great community. The classes are small so you actually feel like your attendance matters and the professor knows your name. Class selection is great. LOTS of social justice lectures and discussions. I stayed in the dorms my first two years and thought arrangements and room size were adequate. Most of the people I met in the dorms are still counted amongst my friends today."

"I had a wonderful experience at Seattle University. As a theatre major, most of my time was spent working on shows in the theatre! I learned so much not only about theater, but about life and myself during those years. Seattle University also has a strong core curriculum which prepared me to persue a masters degree in Education."

"Studying public administration at a school committed to social justice, in the center of a vibrant, liberal city that celebrates diversity, is a dream. The courses are interesting and challenging, the professors are accomplished and tremendously knowledgeable, and my fellow students push me to be my best. However, pursuing a career in public service is not necessarily a lucrative choice, and the price tag associated with the MPA is truly the only downside or otherwise negative element of the program."

"Great program but very demanding and at times difficult and could have used more support and resources to help me navigate the academic life, the curriculum and prepare in advance for my assignments. I am not keen on the required attendance policy where students are penalized with their grade when they miss two or more classes. I think as adult students, it is up to us to determine to show up to class."

"Overall, the school really cares about each student and provides many resources for mastering the information and ensuring success - way more than I ever saw at a large undergraduate college."

"Seattle University had the most knowledgeable, available and interesting faculty of the schools I attended. I attended for my Bachelors' degree, and found the student to faculty ratio to be very good, but best of all, the faculty/professors were always available and helpful. This applied not only when you were enrolled in a class with them, but also as later as mentors and advisors. I later earned my JD at the University of Puget Sound School of Law (now Seattle University School of Law), and a Master of Public Administration degree from City University. Both of those schools provided excellent educations, but not with the level of personal attention and access as Seattle University did. As a non-Catholic I was a bit apprehensive attending Seattle U, a Jesuit University, but it was enlightening to find the broad diversity of students, and having many of the Jesuits who taught some (but not all) of the classes to be very open to hearing, examining, and embracing diversity of opinions in discussions. One class that I remember very fondly was a class taught by a Jesuit priest. It was a comparative religion class that explored Eastern views - nothing quite as enlightening as a priest really embracing Zen Buddhism."

"Seattle University is dedicated to educating the whole person. One is not only challenged academically but spiritually and emotionally. All of these needed to be prepared for the real world. Seattle U lives up to its mission to "Educate and empower leaders for a just and humane world. Add being in the center of one of the hippest neighborhoods in Seattle and one or can't go wrong. One of the best decisions I ever made!"

"High professional expectations. Diverse experiences. Holistic approach. If it weren't for the distance from home, I couldn't give a single Con about the program."

"The Leadership in Arts graduate program at Seattle University is a great degree for advancing one's leadership in any particular fine arts field. The school is a small but has a strong and well-connected community. The program is still fairly new so most of the post-graduation opportunities presented are local. One con is that people that come into the program already working for an arts organization seem to gain more from the program whereas those who are not yet in the field may feel that the entire degree is theory. On the same note, an internship is required every quarter to assist students with entering the field and diversifying their experiences."

"One of the only programs of its kind in the country. Rigorous and selective psychotherapy training program. This is not your typical counseling techniques curriculum."

"Pros: the accounting program is 19th in the country, and recruiters take notice. The Faculty are amazing! Cons: They promise to work with your schedule if you're working full time. That's a lie. The department chair in the accounting department has no desire to serve his students."

"The pros for this program are that they have an incredible network for their students. This network provided a great opportunity to learn from experts and make connections for other learning opportunities, careers, etc. This program also made it more manageable for full time workers to obtain their masters. The con was that since it is a smaller program, there was not very much funding available for scholarships. Also, there were a few extra classes that many of us would have liked to take, but because it was cohort based, it would have been hard to graduate on time. Fortunately, they have restructured the program so that there are some opportunities for this."

"The program is supported by very knowledgeable and active faculty who clearly invest in their students. The program also connects directly with the community, providing hands on experience and opportunities to immediately apply studies. Based on the community's welcoming reception and collaboration with students from the School Psychology program, it is clear they appreciate and enjoy working with the program. The only negative I have found thus far is the cost of living associated with living near the campus."

"The Master of Nonprofit Leadership program is designed to help students who want work in the nonprofit sector become leaders in creating social change. It is an excellent and challenging program. Seattle University is a private college and scholarships are necessary for me to pay for school."

"I feel like the faculty are very engaged with students and they have been helpful since I've graduated. I have a lot of job contacts, and the faculty are always happy to provide references and letters of recommendation. The campus is not in the greatest part of town, so I did not enjoy walking alone at night to get back to my car. The technology use in the department could also be improved. Overall, I would highly recommend it!"

"This program really focuses on leadership, as opposed to just management. Self-awareness and reflection are encouraged, and they work very hard to make each cohort cohesive. There are networking opportunities in abundance. Having practicums (internships) in arts organizations every quarter is really what sets this program apart from other arts administration programs in the country, and they have ties to some of the largest arts nonprofits in Seattle. Every quarter, we also have team projects and presentations that further prepare us for working in arts organizations. Furthermore, it is really fun to go to school right in Capital Hill. I love this program!"
