"Tell us about your college experience. My college experience was fantastic. I completed my 4 years in a row. I got a lot of help academically and professionally. I made a lot of friends and joined a lot of groups on campus. The school was a great fit for me. The professors were amazing.Would you get the same degree if you could start over?If I were to go back to school, I would choose a different major; probably Business instead of English. What advice can you offer other students? When you decide to go to college, you should really think hard about what you want to do with the rest of your life and what you enjoy doing before it's time for you to declare a major. I would also recommend a minor."

"The school was a good fit due to cost. I finished an undergraduate and masters with only ~$10k in debt. If I could go back, I would have studied medicine, but it seemed hard and I was lazy. My advice: do what you like, not what you think will make you money."

"Mine is a very small program, which mainly towards doing clinical translational research. The pros is we can learn to translate our finding into the clinical use. The cons is our campus is a little bit isolated from the main campus, only dental students and students from my department are around this area."

"I really enjoyed my time at Stony Brook University. The reason I didn't give it 10 stars for those that I didn't are because I didn't dorm or live on campus or the surrounding areas. When I was there I felt a sense of loyalty and a strong bond of people. It is a beautiful campus and kept immaculate. The professors and the curriculum are made to be the best!"

"While the program provides ample academic support to graduate students the living stipend provided as a part of the financial package is not enough to survive with the cost of the living in the area. Graduate students must work as teaching assistants while taking classes and still take out student loans if they hope to survive."

"Very competitive to get in but once you get in your class becomes your family. Other students and faculty are there to help and support you. Course load work is very tough but well worth it"

"Great experience in the program. Good opportunities for teaching. Faculty has shifted in last few years, so check to make sure the person you want to work with is there, and that you get along with them. Good location with proximity to NY; even better if you can live closer to the city and commute. The area is expensive, so make sure you have an affordable living situation. Seminars are generally small and interactive. Course offerings are nicely supplemented with opportunities to take courses in Comparative Literature, Women's Studies, and Philosophy. Good amenities on campus."

"Amazing M.D. program overall. School facilities are expanding rapidly, including research buildings for the neurosciences and cancer. Lots of financial donations coming in funding the expansion as well as bringing in numerous new faculty, researchers, and deans. Professors are all experts in their respective fields. Early clinical exposure (1st year) in numerous hospitals, in addition to the University Hospital. Semi-close to NYC (~2 hours by train), but that can be helpful in terms of avoiding distractions. Negatives include lack of nightlife (which can be a positive), and a generally non-diverse patient population."

"Quality education instruction and highly competent staff member who are well trained in their different fields of instruction. Very tedious, just like any other professional preparation however, there is no institution better equipped to propel me towards this career path than Stony Brook University. As outlined in the vision statement of the School of Nursing; ‘our programs are implemented by faculty who are committed to education of the highest standards and who promote clinical practice, scholarly activity, and research that advances scientific and theoretical foundation of nursing'."

"Engineering majors involving research and labs is a wonderful asset to the university. There are plenty of research labs you can undertake. The college itself and professors are geared towards research. There is an industry-partnered thermal spray lab for material scientists seeking to get material science engineering experience. Campus life is pretty decent as every wednesday there are events held around the campus."
