"Although the quality of teaching is sub-par as compared to the quality of research, the professors push you to be an expert in the field and provide time for students to come to them for extra-help and guidance when needed."

"I love the atmosphere and people who are in my department. I feel as though we are very much a family. However, my lab struggles for funding and the department seems to be somewhat stingy in the money they are willing to spend for us. I realize that economic times are tough, but sometimes having access to things we need can be limited or delayed. I wish that as a master's student I was able to not pay tuition and had the opportunity for teaching, but unfortunately I don't. In addition, Temple does its' best to ensure student safety, but the truth of the matter is that it is not located in the best area of Philadelphia, and sometimes unfortunate things do happen."

"The physics graduate program at Temple University is excellent. In the last several years the department has almost doubled in size. This means that you are very likely to find the research the research area you are interested in. The faculty members at Temple are excellent and most importantly accessible and very helpful. I expect the ranking of Temple University's physics department to take a huge leap in the forward direction especially after they have hired a number of known researchers and are about to relocate to the new facility (SERC)."

"The program is great with wonderful teachers who are very supportive of research, though they are less supportive in actual classes. Some professors love to teach while others are more into research only, but either way there are great opportunities to publish and work on research."

"I love this graduate program. Temple University has a much safer environment and friendly campus than I ever imagined. I love the work that we are doing and there is always work to be done. The teachers are great and supportive and very involved in their fields providing us with a glimpse of real world experience and suggestions and help getting into the counseling profession. I would recommend this program, it is a bit difficult to manage finances as a commuter. It is relatively easy to commute to campus but out of state tuition is much higher than the tuition in state."

"There are many good things to say about this program, including the diversity of the student population, professors, and faculty. The academic workload is intense but manageable. The surrounding area is north Philadelphia, which is definitely a downside. Overall, Temple University is a great place to further your academic career"

"The Biomedical Science Graduate Program is a great program for those interested in pursuing a career in research, development, and education of the sciences. The program does a great job of allowing for plenty of experience in the laboratory with experienced professionals who are willing to provide insight on techniques and assay procedures. The school itself is very easy to get to from the surrounding area and the only con of the program is the area that the school is located in is not the best. Although the surrounding area is not great, Temple University has one of the best police forces in the United States and there is a great police presence in the area."

"The pros of my graduate program are quality of education. The professors are highly certified. Lectures are well thought-out. Students are able to access all the lecture material from their computer at home. The anatomy lab is brand new and equipped with computers per each table. The faculty is very supportive and easily accessible. I think one of the cons of the program is its location in north Philadelphia. There is security around campus, but both subways are some distance away, and it is unsafe to walk at night to either."

"Temple University School of Medicine has a wonderful Biomedical Sciences program. The pros of this graduate program include the diversity of the students, the accessibility of teachers and faculty who are always willing to help their students and the amazing connections this University has with other hospitals and government organizations. Almost all students from this Master's program have found work within 2-3 months after graduation. Also all the lab equipment is less than five years old, which gives students the most up to date equipment to use in research which even rivals that of the largest industrial research laboratories. The only cons of this program is the location of the school. Unfortunately the Medical school campus is located in a less fortunate neighborhood in North Philadelphia. However, there is always ample security, police, and walking escorts. Also, while the PhD program offers a generous stipend, the Masters program offers no financial aid for its students, and we are dependent solely on loans to cover the costs of living expenses and tuition."

"The pros about this Temples MSW program is that they are very competitive and education is number one. The knowledge of the professors is high and they all showed a passion for what they taught. The cons of Temple are sometimes the organization and how the financial aid office operates."

"Temple University is undoubtedly a great school academically and in terms of networking. The professors are incredibly accessible and easy to talk to as well as eager to help. Everyone is very accommodating. The program itself isn't competitive in the sense that you are competing against classmates for a select number of diplomas at the end of the program, but the coursework is rigorous. The first semester, there is a class called Molecules to Cells that accounts for six of the nine credits for the whole semester. If you do not do well in this one class, you will be spending the rest of your tenure playing catchup and it can be very difficult to pass the program. Also, the area in which Temple is located is not exactly the safest part of Philadelphia. Rent is cheap, but I don't always feel safe, especially at night. Overall, my experience at Temple is shaping up to be a positive one."

"I am a first year Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Student at Temple University. I am Temple Made and very proud of my school which I believe has shaped me into the person I am today. The Speech-Language Pathology Graduate program at Temple is very prestigious and I fully believe these next two years will prepare and challenge me to become the SLP of my dreams. This being said, it was very difficult to be accepted into the program, even with a 3.8 GPA, the competitiveness is no joke. I even graduated from Temple with my Bachelor's Degree in May, still not knowing whether I was accepted into the program or not yet. One of the best feelings was receiving my acceptance letter and knowing I will be returning to an extremely supportive staff and faculty which will continue to mold me into the SLP I aspire to be. The only downside is, I am struggling financially. I desire this scholarship because I want to be able to provide myself with all of the necessary materials in order to continue this magnificent educational journey at Temple."

"Teachers are too self-centered with a few exceptions. Some expect students to know everything and their teaching style is so old they even carry notes from fifty years ago and brag about it. There are other professors willing to make students think and understand the course and these are the ones whose classes filled up right away."
