"This program proves that the most expensive education doesn't correlate with the best value of education students can receive. Many members of the faculty are graduates of the physical therapy program themselves, and have returned as professors to keep the passion and enthusiasm for their profession alive in every class that passes through. When I say that the faculty is there for their students, that is an understatement. In a nutshell, this program thrives because of the incredible dedication of its masterful faculty members."

"Th education that we receive in the DPT program at TTUHSC is exceptional. I would put our program's level of academic and clinical education up against any other program in the country. We have a very large staff that are all experts in their field, and that is a huge advantage from an educational standpoint. I would say that the main struggle that I had at the beginning of our program was the live simulcast classes because of my inability to engage within the classroom without feeling like an interruption. However, as the program progressed, I became more comfortable with this system. The cost of living is very high in the Odessa area, and many of my classmates had trouble finding places to live that were affordable due to the petroleum "boom" that has been occurring in this area."

"Pros: Amazing faculty. You will not find a better program in the country! Tuition is thousands cheaper than other schools. Faculty goes above and beyond to give students the tools to succeed and are easily accessible. Cons: Split campus and some distance learning."

"The DPT program at TTUHSC thoroughly cares about making sure you will be the best physical therapist possible. The faculty does everything they can to make sure things are understood and are always willing to answer any question that comes up."

"I've never been in a school setting where the professors are complete experts in their field and have years of experience along with clinical experience to provide the best education available. The professors also spend an extensive amount of time pouring into each individual student and takes time to really teach and lead you as a student."

"The Texas Tech HSC DPT program has been one of the best experiences I've had. The faculty is amazing and the program is designed for success. I have never heard of another program where the professors are so involved with the students. I am 100% satisfied with TTUHSC DPT."

"The DPT program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is one of a kind. The faculty and staff are very supportive and truly care about our success not only in the classroom, but once we get out into the real world. It is a program spanned across 3 different campuses, and yet we feel like a tight knit group. I believe I am getting the best education I could possibly get and I wouldn't go anywhere else."

"TTUHSC was by far the best choice I could have made for my physical therapy education. Not only is the curriculum top notch, but the faculty is phenomenal! Our professors are seasoned clinicians with well rounded knowledge of the many different physical therapy approaches, which is beneficial to us as students. We have professors with vast knowledge in every field, whether you are interested in Acute Care, Neuro, Ortho, or Peds. Trust me when I say our faculty is awesome! Despite being spread across three campuses, we are one united cohort. Just to top it off, I believe our tuition is the cheapest in the state of Texas. TTUHSC should be your top choice when it comes to getting your Doctorate of Physical Therapy."

"The DPT program in the School of Health Professions at TTUHSC is the epitome of what I wanted grad school to be like. I'm surrounded by motivated individuals who are passionate about the field of physical therapy and have access to the most friendly and helpful faculty I've ever worked with and/or heard of. If you can survive the wind and the fluctuating weather in the tortilla-flat city of Lubbock, you will be thrilled that you picked TTUHSC DPT."

"The pro is the excellent quality of education and the community of faculty and students. The con is the small town it is located in."

"This is an amazing health sciences center. The school of medicine is superb. I contribute all of my success in medical school (AOA, top board scores, matching at my number one residency programs in a very competitive field) to the environment and support staff and faculty. They are always open to changing the curriculum to better suit students needs, they are extremely supportive of students interests as well. One of the other great attributes of this medical school is that you will leave being very competent because all of the hands on learning you were able to do during your four years of training."

"PROS: TTUHSC SOM truly cares about its students - from academics to future career to well-being Top notch administration and staff High quality professors and clinicians Easily prepares you for residency training in any specialty field CONS: Location might not be considered ideal to some (i.e., West Texas) Having separate clinical campuses may be considered inconvenient, even though they all provide high quality clinical experiences"

"The biggest pro of our school is the incredible faculty and staff. You are never alone throughout these trying 4 years because the faculty goes beyond their duty as teachers to be supportive mentors and friends."

"TTUHSC School of Medicine is top notch! When I was looking at all of the Texas medical schools on paper, I originally wasn't planning to rank TTUHSC high. It seemed far away from more urban areas and was told it was in the conservative "Bible Belt". On interview day, I was completely blown away. The students and faculty is SO MUCH MORE friendlier and pleasant. The campus was much nicer, parking wasn't a disaster like other med schools, and there is literally no traffic. The faculty know you by name and the school really listens to your evaluations and feedback. I've been here for 4 years and I have literally seen the changes from our feedback take place. They really prepare you well for being a doctor, help you in studying for the boards, and assist you GREATLY in finding you a residency of your choice."

"TTUHSC School of Medicine is incredibly supportive and open to student feedback. The faculty makes a point to stay in top of current technology in medical education and apply it in the classroom or on clinicals. The environment is friendly, team-driven, and compassionate, recognizing when workloads are high while still encouraging autonomy. This is not a "sink-or-swim" program, but one that truly views you as an upcoming member of the medical profession worthy of advice and encouragement. The administration is committed to eliminating mistreatment of medical students from the standard of medical education-- here at Tech, medical students are not embarrassed, humiliated, or given only grunt work to do. Any episodes where that is not the case are the exception, not the rule, and such faculty behavior is not supported by the administration. Negative aspects of the program are more related to resources. We may not have the funds of some of the larger Texas programs, but research still thrives here. Lubbock also lacks in public transportation, and I can't imagine being particularly able to do without a car. Matching into prestigious out-of-state residencies is not impossible, but more than half of us stay in state for residency. Because of that, Texas Tech's name isn't always known in some areas. If I were to start medical school over again, I would still choose Texas Tech. Guns up!"

"Texas Tech University health sciences center has been a tremendous asset to my career. I feel like I could not have been more well-prepared for my residency. The staff and faculty are always available to help, guide and support. The teachers are of excellent quality and well-trained. In addition to my classroom years, I felt that my clinical courses were both beneficial and relevant. My clinical faculty were great role models as physicians and teachers. The resident staff here are also focused on teaching and helping the students to become the best physicians they can be. Texas Tech was my first choice for a residency program and I am happy to be continuing my education here in the pediatrics department and look forward to many more years with the Texas Tech system. I would recommend this medical school very highly."
