"TWU is in a great location and has a brand new facility with all the equipment a student could ever need to learn effectively. The program is tough and fast paced but you come out with so much knowledge and more prepared than other programs. I love TWU. I went there for my undergraduate program in Kinesiology and I still love it now."

I was prepared to start my career as a physical therapist by the most wonderful professors & staff, who all genuinely care about each student being successful. I couldn't have picked a better place to earn my DPT. It was a grueling course load, but I could certainly see the difference in my TWU education vs. students from other schools when out on clinicals. Beautiful campus in the heart of the Texas Medical Center & so much opportunity to learn from the incredible medical institutions nearby. Go to TWU!"

"I am proud of being a graduate from the Texas Woman's University - Houston campus DPT program. Entrance into the program is highly competitive, particularly as the application process does not include an interview. Therefore, the applicant must be outstanding in their undergraduate degree, letters of recommendation, observational hours, and GRE score. The Houston campus is directly in the heart of the largest medical center in the world. Therefore, this campus has a cutting edge in clinical education at the best of the best hospitals and clinics through observations and internships woven throughout the curriculum. The quality of the education is incomparable, particularly because 100% of the faculty are physical therapists themselves, with a majority still actively practicing in the clinic setting. The faculty goes above and beyond to help the students in learning material which more than prepares the students for the foundation they need for their internships. This also is reflected in the near 100% first-time pass rate year after year on the NPTE. I have only praise and respect for this program and, again, am a proud alumnus!"

"+ Top ranked program with a long history of success in the field of physical therapy. + Ability to work towards a DPT and PhD concurrently. + Phenomenal new facility with outstanding resources and access to the heart of Dallas, TX. + Cadaver dissections completed by the DPT students. - Many professors don't welcome after class inquiry or interaction. - Program is large which can take away from the camaraderie of the cohort."

"The campus is very pretty & easy to get around. It feels very safe with security guards always there. You also have to hay an ID to access rooms. All the PT classrooms are all on one floor. Plenty of computers if you need to print anything. There is any kind of equipment you can think of if it pertains to your degree. I feel all the courses are preparing you for the real world so you will be more than ready & equipped with anything that comes your way."

"This program is filled with highly qualified professors that are specialists in their area of study, and the curriculum is extensive with a demanding workload. I believe TWU's DPT program provides a quality education that prepares its students for professional performance in any subsection of practice."

"A major pro for TWU is the open and welcoming atmosphere from other students, faculty, and staff. As soon as you set foot in a classroom, it is immediately apparent that everyone around you wants to see you succeed and will do anything that they can to assure that that will happen. That is not to say that it is not a challenging program; the faculty and staff recognize that in three short years, we should be prepared to practice physical therapy at a doctorate level, and as such it is up to them to adequately prepare us through examinations, assessments, and practicals. They have set up challenges and expectations for us, but they provide us with all the knowledge and skills we need to know, along with the abilities and confidence to do well in the classroom setting, and eventually in a clinical setting. Something I think TWU could be better about is integrating the three programs that are on the Dallas campus: DPT, MOT, and BSN. We all pass each other on the stairs and sit in the same cafeteria at lunch, but there is not much opportunity for interaction. It could be a great way to learn about working together on a health care team, as could very possibly be the case post-graduation."

"I am so glad I chose TWU's physical therapy DPT program. The Dallas campus is amazing, and the program is really top-notch. It's competitive to get in, and the workload is rigorous, but I am completely confident that I will be well-prepared to enter any specialty in the field of physical therapy when I graduate. The campus atmosphere is also really friendly and supportive."

"Best choice for PT school in Texas! Hard to beat the twice of tuition, and housing can be affordable if you are careful. Faculty are always available and are very helpful. I'm glad that I chose this program and would do so all over again!"

"I could not have a made a better choice in choosing TWU for my graduate program. As soon as you arrive you can sense the friendly environment. The state of the art building is perfectly located in Dallas where there is plenty of extra curricular events and sights not far from the campus. The walk from the bus stop or the train station to campus is very manageable without the feeling of being in an unsafe environment. The Dallas campus is limited to one building with only three educational programs which make it easy to make friends and meet new people. The building is suitable for the number of students as there is very little competition for study rooms or computers. The only cons are that, because of its size, there is little extracurricular activities provided by the school such as intramurals. The library and building sometimes close down earlier than you need them to before tests and are not open on Sundays."

"The pros of TWU are that it is a smaller class size, making it a better learning environment and more access to faculty assistance when necessary. The main con of TWU is that the word "woman" deters many males from applying, as a result my particular class is very limited. However, this is less of an issue in other years."

"TWU DPT program has excellent faculty members, who want every student to be the best PT that they can be. The workload is intense and the program is competitive. Time management is key along with work ethic and motivation."

"Pros: TWU Houston is located in the heart of the Houston Medical Center and has great working relationships with all of the top hospitals in Houston. Your exposure and hospital hands on experience is limitless. In addition the staff is very involved and truly invested in you succeeding. Cons: TWU is a very competitive and vigorous program. You will have a very high work load in addition to several hours of clinic work each semester. Time management is key."
