"Attending UT-Dallas was the best decision in my life. I applaud UT-Dallas for having locked tuition because it provided a more significant incentive to graduate on time with not as much debt. Because UT-Dallas is in Richardson, there was a variety of different housing. There was a bus that would travel from the University to a series of more affordable apartments. I also really enjoyed the faculty because the Political Science department was such a small department; it didn't take long before I was able to form meaningful bonds with Professors and Staff. I have developed a variety of long-standing relationships with students who have gone to fantastic law schools outside of Texas. UT-Dallas is an influential undergraduate school in the Dallas area and has excellent connections depending on how you use it."

"This college has a lot of great professors and resources but didn't help much with me finding a career. Unfortunately in the middle of me pursing my major they stopped offering it to the incoming classes and if I changed to the more aggressive major that I was offer most of the courses that I had already taken wouldn't apply to the new degree. It sucks because the original degree plan had so much potential and very little execution. As far as the career help there really wasn't any, the career fairs are geared towards the Sciences and business/managements. The arts tend to go unnoticed or get side swept."

"The overall university isn't that bad. Social live isn't that great since it is a commuter school. Regarding Advisors - The BIGGEST complaint is regarding the engineering advising. I have friends from any universities and they all talk highly about their advisor experience. I wish I could do the same. I never get the same information from the advisors I go to. They are not willing to work with you. Walking into advising, you should feel like you are going to be helped and guided. Honestly, it felt like a detention center walking into their office. I was delayed a whole semester for graduation because i was misinformed by my advisors. I was told one thing by one and another thing from another advisor. This isn't a one person problem either. I conducted a poll and out of 128 students that have been to engineering advising, 117 people have had negative experiences. IF you do decide to go to UTD and have an ECS advisor, please have some sort of proof ready to back up everything by them. EX: send a confirmation email about everything you talked about right after and make sure they reply. Regarding Instructors - It's a luck of the draw. There are a just a handful of professors that are actually good at what they do. Most of professors just read off of powerpoint slides and called it a day. My complaints are more towards the Engineering Department and less with the entire school it self. The UTD Police department are some of the most caring and nicest people on campus. They get their safety messages across effectively.UTD is kind of pricey but no complaints because I knew that going in. Their Career Expo and Intern Fairs are also beneficial but a lot of schools have that as well. I'm not against UTD. It was my home for 4.5 years and I made my life long friends here. I just hope one day the engineering department makes these changes because it directly impacts the student's lives."

"UT Dallas is a an excellent academic institution with a quirky campus culture and a great location. I loved the faculty; I always felt that they truly cared about my success and wanted to form strong connections with me. I even knew many of the upper administration--they could often be seen walking around campus in the mornings, asking students about their experiences. UTD is a great place to call home. Whoosh!"

"As someone who has graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and is continuing on to pursue a Master's Degree from UTD, I can confidently say that UTD has made my experience pursuing a higher education rewarding and meaningful. The campus at UTD has a diversity of people, ideas, and activities that keep campus life interesting, and I have felt supported throughout my college experience. The people are friendly and the students are treated as the number one priority. If you are wanting to attend a college where you can make lifelong friends, get a quality education, have a support system, and graduate with less debt than the national average, UT Dallas could be for you!"

"My experience with UT Dallas was overall very positive. I started out in what was (at the time) the brand new Arts & Technology building. I had wonderful instructors, and the advising team was very helpful and understanding. Especially when I decided to completely change my major midway through my second year. I was happy to attend a school that was conveniently located within 30 minutes of my house, so I didn't need to live on campus. However, many of my friends did and they were happy with their on-campus apartments. I felt like my upper level courses and professors truly prepared me for my future in social studies education. I feel honored to be an alumni of such a prestigious school, and I recommend this university to any future students. Go Comets!"

"The University of Texas at Dallas is a great school. It is very prestigious in academics so if the freshmen are not prepared they may get overwhelmed quickly. If you manage your time well and do not fall behind you will be perfectly fine though. There are a lot of international students at UTD, so the campus is usually filled with people doing homework or assignments. Do not let that discourage you though most internationally students want American friends that will teach them about American culture. There is usually something always going on in the student union. Clubs recruiting or selling some sort of treats ( my favorite are the cupcakes from Sprinkles. The food court is second to none they have a panda express and a Chick-fil-a subway a full Starbucks on campus and more. The teachers there are some of the best that I have ever had but they do expect you to come to their office hours and work very hard. People play ultimate frisbee and four-square and spike ball in the common areas outside. One of the downsides is that freshman is required to live in the dorms their first year and the applications for student housing for sophomores and above are extremely slow and cumbersome. If you are interested in clubs student government is one of the largest clubs and if you are particularly religious there are three main Christian organizations on campus. I would recommend FOCUS ( Fellowship of University Students) I made most of my friends there and they have many social events outside of their weekly meeting time. It is not very handicap accessible campus the buttons to open doors are always malfunctioning and some of the ramps are super steep"

"The school is perfectly located in a suburb of Dallas. It was nearby everything that Dallas had to offer. The students population was diverse and safe. The campus was was undergoing renovation and updating making it into a beautiful campus. I enjoyed my years there and would recommend it to anyone."

"I am in my first year of the ACN Master's Program at UT Dallas. Let's start with the pros. There are a ton of really interesting classes offered, and you can take classes across any subject as an elective. There are some areas, however, where the school could definitely improve. The deans are incredibly unorganized and cancel classes at the last minute (right before classes are due to start). Some of the professors are INCREDIBLE, while others teach the class as a glorified undergraduate program. Finally, this is largely a commuter campus, and it can be difficult to meet people. But overall, it's been a decent experience."

"The Communication Disorders Graduate Program at UT Dallas is such a great program. The professors emphasize learning by experience through clinical practicum and classes combined. The professors are welcoming and allow for open communication as well."

"UT Dallas is a growing school that is trying to adapt to the rapid growth. WIth this campus is easy to find your way around and there are multiple places to on campus that you can eat at. One thing prospective students shouls be aware of is limited parking! Many students commute to campus and parking spaces fill up quick, also parking is not free. Students and staff can purchase parking pases at the Transportation Office, but pases are pretty pricey. But, UT Dallas offers students free DART passes that are issued through the transportation office which allows students to venture out and about in the city."

"UT Dallas was an exceptional choice for an undergraduate institution. It is a renowned university in terms of its curriculum, faculty, and academic rigor - all things you experience first-hand as a student. The Naveen Jindal School of Management provides the right learning material for a student to understanding their degree in business and its fast-track program is a great way to leap start an MBA. UT Dallas is a growing school, which means that scholarship opportunities are plenty here. The university as a whole is commendable in its efforts to provide student aid, relevant curriculum, and excellent career coaching, should a student need it."
