"Thomas Jefferson University allows you the opportunity to pursue your Graduate degree on a part-time pay per credit basis which is really convenient for those who are working professionals. Most of the classes begin late afternoon or evening so that you can still work during the day. Furthermore they allow you to perform your thesis research in a non-Jefferson lab so that you can easily pursue a project at your place of employment if that is desirable. The faculty are very amiable and teach the information in a very concise and efficient manner. Their expectations are not unreasonable. The cons are that Jefferson is relatively small and isn't in the nicest section of Philadelphia. Also many students are part-time given the convenience and so it becomes hard to form bonds among your classmates. If you are looking for the "university/college atmosphere and social life" you may find it lacking. Otherwise it is a great school for advancing your career particularly if you are already working."

"The Pharmacy program at Jefferson is intense and the workload is substantial; however, it is incredibly rewarding if enough time is put in. The faculty are receptive and always available for students in need of help."

"I am very pleased with the graduate education I received while at Thomas Jefferson University. My major was in Microbiology, a large focus of which was focused on medical microbiology due to the fact that TJU is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. If you are working full-time, this program is great because the classes are offered at night. All of my classes were held in downtown Philadelphia, which was a another plus for me because I was working nearby at the time. I strongly believe my graduate education allowed me to be a more competitive applicant while applying to PhD programs, as I will be starting my PhD this fall."

"Thomas Jefferson University Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program is ranked 6th in the nation. This year they received over 900 applicants and I was one of roughly 40 to be selected for the incoming class of 2014. The program is highly respected in the health community, and also produces some of the best and well recognized occupational therapists in the country. The program supports and fosters building close relationships between the faculty and students. Students are treated as colleagues and professionals. There is a warm and friendly environment for students to learn in, as well as a highly regarded fieldwork placement program to provide us with exceptional real-world experiences and training before entering the profession on our own. Despite all of the advantages and benefits of studying at Thomas Jefferson, the tuition and costs of attendance are extremely high. They do not offer any merit scholarship. I am left with the option to take out loans."

"TJU is on the cutting edge of academics and research and is especially career oriented. It has few undergraduate programs and mostly specializes in graduate and professional biomedical schooling which allows TJU to really focus on these areas. However this means also that support staff and administration is limited so at times it is hard to navigate the administrative and financial aid requirments, etc."

"I am currently a first year medical student at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. When it comes to the quality of my education and staff support, I could not have asked for a more receptive environment. From my first day here, we as students have been encouraged to reach out to professors and doctors as a way to network and meet potential mentors, which can be an invaluable resource. The one difficulty with my graduate program is the astronomical costs. My cost of attendance for the academic year is a little over 70k/year. Without the help of financial aid and scholarships the overall bill can be quite daunting."

"I went to undergraduate at Whitman college it was definitely the most fun and educational experience of my life. I made a lot of great friends there and wouldn't have traded that experience for anything. Then I went to jefferson medical college, I couldn't have my current job without the degree and I'm certainly glad I got the opportunity and experience. But I mostly worked and studied. It was good in it's own way and living in philadelphia was fun."

"Pros: The faculty and staff really do care about you as a person first then a student. Everyone wants to see you succeed; this includes classmates helping one another out as well. The students in the program are friendly and outgoing. The school offers discounts at certain restaurants around the city as well as other extra curricular activities (i.e the zoo, professional athletic events, etc). The class size isn't too big which allows us to still have a nice student:teacher ratio. They've also done a lot of renovating in buildings that my program uses to teach. Cons: There isn't enough diversity in my class and the tuition is too high."

"This is one of the only masters' programs in Medical Laboratory Science, which is what drew me to the program in the beginning. I feel that it was invaluable in furthering my career objectives while giving me a distinct advantage over graduates from other programs."

"The professors have all had illustrious careers and I enjoy hearing about the troubles they have encountered and some of the stories that they tell in relation to their lectures. It's obvious that they have been through what they are teaching about. Unfortunately, many of the professors are older and their basic computer skills are lacking. In addition, there have been times when a professor has requested certain items be ready for the class or repairs made, but those items never get done. Since my classes are evening classes, any "Help" number we have is useless since the people who answer the phones are gone for the day."
