"I love it here! There is never a day when I question my decision to come here. The moment I walk into school, I feel right at home. The only thing I wish I could change is the hours the school is open. We are kicked out at midnight to make sure that we can catch public transportation home. I would totally sleep here if I could."

"Pros: location; faculty is helpful and available; classes are relevant, practical, and interesting; program is small but well-integrated into larger school and provides a lot of options; night classes allow for having a job Cons: career services is not that available; small program can make socializing hard"

"I feel that the Fletcher School at Tufts University is an academically challenging and rewarding program. The network of alumni is impressive and most previous Fletcher students are very willing to help you in creating an interesting and exciting career post Fletcher. The professors are extremely well-versed in their subject matters and are highly respected professionals, practitioners, and academics."

"Tufts' Biomedical Sciences Master's Program (MBS) is a valuable experience for those seeking a career in medicine, but don't yet have credentials that are competitive enough for a medical school application. In an environment very similar to that found in first year medical school, students are able to see exactly what will be expected of them at the next level, and are able to prove that they have the motivation and ability to succeed. In fact most of the curriculum, especially in the first semester, mirrors that of the first year medical class, and grading of the MBS student is gauged by the performance of the medical students. The staff is incredibly devoted to the students, giving the students more than ample opportunity for advisement and outside help. Tuition is a bit steep, at about $40,000 w/o lodging or food, but you certainly get what you pay for from one of the top-rated medical schools in the country."

"My particular program is small, which means I can get individual attention, but I also get a lot of opportunity to interact with students from other public health programs in class, which is great. Most of the professors are professionals in the field, which means they really know what they're talking about and can offer a lot of practical advice. The school offers a lot of support and services, but it's not always clear how to use them, or easy to do so."

"The Fletcher School if the premier institution for graduate education (and a professional degree) in international relations/policy. This is borne out by the thought leadership of its faculty and the presence of its alumni in high levels of governmental, intergovernmental, NGO, and private sector institutions."

"Tufts Medical School provides an amazing education and cares about the students and their needs. They have committees for just about everything that students sit on to allow for student feedback, and are very responsive to any and all problems. Tufts has tons of clubs, opportunities for community service, and the curriculum is well thought out and comprehensive. Tufts uses multiple modes of learning, including problem based learning, small groups, but has a mostly lecture based learning. There are opportunities to watch lecture from home, the anatomy program is amazing, and the professors are always available to help."

"Tufts is a competitive school with a lot of funding to the department, which helps faculty be very well-prepared to teach. Facilities are better than most, with up-to-date projector technology for high-tech lessons."

"This review is specifically for the Sackler School of Biomedical Science. Being in Boston is great due to all the resources and big names that are drawn here. The faculty are fantastic, almost without exception. The students go out of their way to connect with each other and there is a lot of collaboration, whether it's needing to borrow a reagent or needing assistance with a technique. Programs vary in how organized they are, which is frustrating if you're in a disorganized one. Faculty are very responsive to feedback, however, and look to make positive changes from year to year. The small class sizes enhance the learning environment, and many of the lab spaces have been recently renovated."

"Note: this review is for the Tufts MA program in Philosophy. The Medford/Somerville/Cambridge area is an excellent, culturally and intellectually stimulating place to live. Rent is expensive, though parking is less so, and it's a good area for biking, and has lots of other transportation (buses, Tufts buses, subway). The program is very well-regarded, though for the most part students are on their own, both when it comes to passing the comprehensive exams and pursuing their interests and applying to PhD programs. Passing the comps and/or getting into a PhD program usually takes 4 years or longer. Faculty are serious about getting students into PhD programs, but often too busy to help you in other ways, and are often rude. They see themselves as weeding out those who shouldn't go on (due, for example, to a lack of toughness). Thicken your skin before you arrive. That said, the highly selective admissions process resulted, in my time there, in the best community of graduate students I've ever encountered. I learned a great deal from them."
