"Ph.D program. Overall, pleased; some courses could use updates and reviews, especially ones for first years. We have a required course with the PharmD students that isn't particularly suited to our program and is very difficult for our students. Professors are generally helpful, understanding, and willing to meet outside of classes. Workload varies depending on which lab you join."

"This is a very supportive program where you can learn a tremendous amount-- the student and faculty community are great, there is financial support available, and there is great opportunity for network. Unfortunately state politics have led to some financial difficulties for the state universities, so there has been a bit of uncertainty around funding."

"The U of A has a beautiful campus and active on-campus student life. It is a research institution which provides access to experts in many fields. There are lots of professors who seem to love teaching in addition to their research. Technology resources are impressive and faculty seems to be attempting to actively improve their pedagogy. Students, alumni, and Tucson residents are very devoted to UA sports, especially basketball and football."

"Amazing campus. Palm trees and beautiful buildings. The "mall" that runs through the middle is kinda the center of things and a great spot for pickup games and just getting a tan. There's so many top-tier programs at U of A, it's a hard education to beat. Not to mention the great culture surrounding all the clubs and teams. There's a huge amount of school pride and the student body really comes out to show it. Tucson really is a great college town, and you feel like you're at the center of everything while you're there."

"This is a highly competitive program at a top ranked school. The quality of the program shows through the hard work and fast past course load. You can tell the faculty care about you and want you to succeed. Only 25% of applicants get in and After my first semester I am so glad I made the choice to go here. GO CATS!"

"Great campus. U of A students, alumni, and Tucson residents are enthusiastic about football and basketball. There seemed to be a good mix of professors who are interested in research and professors interested in teaching."

"Very interwoven and intensive. I was on a first name basis with all of my professors in my school, I knew almost everyone in my classes because I schooled with them as well as did shows with them. I found my school program more intensive and the expectations higher then when I entered the real world which made me excel and build strong relations both in school and out of it. I worked on 2-4 shows per year on top of being a full time student."

"The University of Arizona has a beautiful campus I enjoyed strolling through and exploring every day. I had many excellent and enlightening instructors and took a number of very engaging classes. I only thing I didn't like was taking NATS classes because I hate science."

"The pros of our graduate program is the amount of training we get, the interaction we get with potential employees, and our awesome professors who are very passionate about their careers. The cons are that we have very limited diversity in our graduate program."

"The School of Plant Sciences has a wide array of faculty with diverse interests, all of whom are excited to share their knowledge with students. They all have a very open door policy and welcome student questions and input during group discussions. Students are encouraged to think outside the box and are treated as colleagues as opposed to as students. They are supported through grants, fellowships and assistantships, are free to collaborate with other department members and are welcomed at seminars and other departmental events. Additionally, the University of Arizona could not be located in a better area. Tucson is sunny 350 days out of the year. It is truly an oasis in the desert, with an abundance of activities to do both indoors and outdoors. Ultimately, the only drawback of Tucson is that students do need to have a car to commute, due to the lack of a public transportation system otherwise. But besides that, I cannot recommend the U of A any more highly."

"Pros: The program is very well developed when it comes to classes and time-lines for completing comprehensive exams. Faculty are also easily accessible. Cons: Program take a little too long to complete for a doctoral degree."
