"I was very pleased with my education through the university of Arkansas. The curriculum is very straight forward and not confusing or misleading. I enjoyed working with all of the professors and fellow students; you can tell that the professors care about each and every one of the students' success. However, I do feel that my advisors could have been a lot more personal than they were. At a big school it is hard to get personal with every single professor and your advisor as well. I do feel very prepared though going on to graduate school, and, I can say that the University of Arkansas contributed to my confidence and preparation. It's a great atmosphere and education program; I don't think I could have gone to a better college for my undergraduate degree."

"While the journalism program may have some room to grow as far as courses goes, the faculty is stacked with experienced and helpful professors. Getting to know them and asking for advice is one of the best things you can do for your future career! Very fun program especially for news/editorial majors"

"The university is a public, land-grant university that is also ranked among the nation's top public research schools. Students who attend here come all 50 states, as well as over 120 countries. As a Hispanic woman, I have always felt like I belonged on this campus. Of the 10 colleges and schools under the university, I am enrolled in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food, and Life Sciences. My four year degree will be in animal science, under the pre-veterinary concentration plan. I am extremely satisfied with what I have learned from this school, and I know it has prepared me for my future career in veterinary medicine. More than 70% of pre-professional animal science students who apply to veterinary school are accepted, and I happen to be one of those students. I could not have done it without the professors who are passionate about what they teach, the advisers who guided me every step of the way, and the friends I made in class that share the same interests as me. The university has provided me with an abundance of hands-on work with animals at the barn, which is great for people like me who are visual learners. The animal science degree path is not exactly easy, considering you have to take courses such as chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. However, the professors in animal science - and really anywhere at the University of Arkansas - truly want you to succeed and will take the time to help you if needed. I am beyond excited to start my journey into veterinary school this fall, and I thank the University of Arkansas for allowing me to achieve my dream since I was little. Although I will be attending another school for my graduate studies, I will always be calling the Hogs wherever I go!"

"One of the best institutions I have been to. My mentors helped me tremendously with learning research and writing a thesis. This university also gave me the opportunity to teach at the college level as a stepping stone for my career now."

"The University of Arkansas is a wonderful university with a stunning campus and caring faculty. I could not have asked for a better school for both my college and graduate studies. Along with getting a first class education, the sports and atmosphere of campus are very inviting. I loved my time at the University of Arkansas and would recommend it over and over to anyone."

"I would highly recommend the Industrial Engineering program at the University of Arkansas. The University as a whole offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities and many diverse clubs and organizations. The U of A also offers numerous degrees to accommodate everyone. The Industrial Engineering program has some of the best professors who are always there to help and guide you in the right direction. The course work is challenging, but relevant to the real world."

"The University of Arkansas flagship campus is located in beautiful Fayetteville, Arkansas. This picturesque city sits among the rolling hills of the Boston Mountains of northwest Arkansas. The campus provides all amenities expected of major Universities including great academics, a wide range of athletics, on-campus housing, Greek life, and ample opportunities for students desiring to study abroad. The undergraduate civil engineering program is ABET accredited which allows one to pursue their Engineering Intern status and ultimately become a licensed Professional Engineer. The graduate program of the civil engineering department provides students the opportunity to study all major areas of civil engineering, and their related applications. The university's cooperation with local agencies allows one to become familiar with new advances in construction materials such as asphalt, concrete, and soils. I personally studied concrete materials during my time as a master's student. The faculty of the graduate program in the civil engineering department want to see their students succeed. Many new young faculty members hired over the past 5 years are helping to push the program forward. During my time, I only had a small handful of classes that would be considered irrelevant. These were mainly due to the instructors and one of them is no longer with the program. Overall my experience with this school has been very positive. I plan to finish my PhD but would like to inform you that if doing both a master's and PhD the number of available classes is somewhat limited. There are plenty of classes available for graduation, especially since they recently reduced the class requirements for the PhD program. However, a few classes may end up being outside your specific area of focus. For instance, if you plan to study structures, you may end up taking a couple of geotechnical engineering classes to finish out the requirements. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone seeking to gain more knowledge of civil engineering. Hope this review was helpful!"

"The University of Arkansas offers its students a unique combination of advantages not easily found at other universities. Coming from an elite, undergraduate institution in the Northeastern U.S., I honestly didn't know what to expect from a graduate program at the University of Arkansas, but here's what I found: 1. Students receive a high quality education at an affordable cost. My classes at Arkansas kept me just as busy and challenged as the ones I took at my elite undergraduate university. Arkansas' tuition, however, was a fraction of the tuition I paid in undergrad. Further, the area in which the university is located is also extremely affordable, which highlights another cost savings advantage. 2. The University of Arkansas is located in a thriving business environment. Before moving to Arkansas, I imagined the university being in a small town in the middle of nowhere. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Northwest Arkansas region is home to a large number of companies (which is extremely important to a student studying business). Personally, although my goal was to begin a PhD program after graduation from Arkansas' Master's program, corporate employers in the area often attempted to recruit me to work with them after graduation. I adhered to my original goal of pursuing a PhD afterwards, but it was nice to have a "Plan B" in Corporate America had I changed my mind. 3. The kindest people I have ever met live in Arkansas. I've lived in several regions across the U.S., and never have a experienced a more caring and invested community as I have in Northwest Arkansas. From school administrators, to strangers, neighbors and friends, I felt that people were genuinely interested in helping me."

"I learned a lot during my Bachelors degree program in Psychology at the University of Arkansas. The classes varied in rigor and activity level. The requirements for each course varied greatly as well. Although I learned a lot during my program, there was very little real life application. If I had to change one thing about the program I would like to see more real life application and hands on experiences."

"The University of Arkansas is an excellent university. I decided to stay and get my Masters in School Counseling after receiving my Bachelors in Psychology. The School Counseling program has been an excellent fit for me. There is a good balance of book work and hands on experience. There are many opportunities to attend conferences, networking events, and workshops. I've always gotten excellent feedback from professors and have built a good relationship with each of them. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in School Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling."

"At first glance, this is a fairly large university. In the past few years, they allowed for an upgrade of 15 minutes between classes for easier travel since the previous ten minutes meant a student had to run from one end of campus to the other. The anthropology program is fantastic! They have a lot of classes in each of the subfields. The biology department has more classes than can be taken, so if your major is in biological sciences, make sure to look over all of the different classes in the catalog before making your four year plan. In terms of the four year plan, you need to think of this in your first semester. Sure, you won't know when each class is going to be offered, especially if it's listed as "irregular," but get a general idea of what you need to take and when since most upper level courses of every major has prerequisites. The different offices in the Union are very helpful. There are a lot of different clubs and organizations, so you should never feel like you don't belong."

"As a graduate of the U of A, Fayetteville, I gained not only an education, but life long skills needed to survive in an ever changing world. The U of A provided me internship experience via my college that helped me acclimate to the working world. Being a U of A graduate brought me a sense of honor and accomplishment that I take with me wherever I work or travel. When I return to the U of A and see my name etched in the sidewalk beside Old Main, I get a renewed sense of pride and feeling of accomplishment as I look back over the courses I took during my tenure at the U of A. Nothing can ever take a degree away -it is forever."
