"Professors are very kind and supportive. The environment is an ideal environment for learning and growing as a person. I was able to participate in research and also prestigious internships. I had a great experience at UC-Davis. I highly recommended the school."

"The administration is slow to respond and harsh on discipline. If you don't get back to them asap they punish you but they take forever to get back to you [if ever]. Their student support is horrible and the counselling is worthless. The website is so worthless the staff Googles answers to basic questions that should be on the website. I have never been made to feel like such a burden as I have since I transferred here. I hate this school."

"Overall, I really enjoyed my college years at UC Davis. Just nearby, Downtown Davis is a college student paradise with a large variety of restaurants and shops down every street. Student life was extremely convenient, although expensive due to housing, and the classes were awesome and solid with great professors who know how to teach well. However, sometimes I felt that there just wasn’t enough classes. The major I graduated with is still quite general and could use more advanced classes with multiple levels. Though, I would like to mention that Davis has a really great system for giving students on-campus part time/ full time jobs (ASUCD Jobs) that gives major-related, professional experience at a minimum wage, which I would highly suggest doing before you graduate. Would definitely recommend this college to anyone who enjoys a suburban environment with a variety of culture. Also bikes."

"The classes were good and the professors and impressive and are eager to help. Counselors leave much to be desired. My graduation was delayed due to counselors being unfamiliar with graduation requirements and being unsure of what classes I should take. I ended up taking more classes than needed and was very confused throughout the process, as no one could tell me what was expected of me, or what I needed to do."

"UC Davis is a great institution to attend for your undergraduate degree. Staff is very helpful with guidance and advice and there are many tools on campus at your disposal. You can get your degree in four years or less due to less impacted classes and quarter system."

"I absolutely loved the Spanish program at UC Davis, the professors all cared about their work and the students. Some professors were more thoughtful, considerate of students not always having the highest level in Spanish, and if you went to office hours they were their to help you get there. You can't expect them to do your work for you but they do care about you learned and growing. Furthermore, there were many courses that I thoroughly enjoyed but that I recognize were homework heavy and that doesn't always work for all students."

"I appreciated all the teachers and all the resources that the departments have. I enjoyed the environment. Going to college for me was an experience that I could be outside of my environment that I grew up in. UC Davis was an environment that was covered in nature and trees, this was a different feel for me. I was relaxing and the energy of learning and the want to get a higher education was clear throughout the campus. The teachers challenged us as students and the resources were good. One resource that I can recall that blew me away was how amazing the library is. With more than 4 floors and plenty of study space, and books it was the perfect place to study and do work."

"UC Davis is a top-tier university with professors who are knowledgable and passionate about their areas of expertise. Many professors encourage their students to attend office hours and ask though-provoking questions. In office hours, students can learn in a smaller group setting which allows for better understanding of subject material. This is also an excellent way to form connections with professors for future letters of recommendation or finding a lab to work in. Aside from the professors, UC Davis also provides ample extracurricular activities including IM sports teams, Greek life, student government and volunteer opportunities. There are always opportunities to get involved and meet new people, and the student body is friendly and welcoming towards others."

"I had the best experience at UC Davis. I felt welcomed and supported by all members of the university. My major had plenty of opportunities for me to do field work. Because of this opportunity for field work, I was able to find a job coming straight out of college."

"The college/degree does a very good job in stimulating and fostering the skills of critical thinking, advanced writing, and public speech. The topics regarding economics are covered very well. I assumed some of the job matches for me with this degree would be an accountant or loan officer; however, the curriculum doesn't involve any accounting which is required for these jobs. This degree will definitely help with sales or banking and maybe some managing experience. The school doesn't focus heavily on providing internship opportunities for those in this major. Although, the school is heavily focused on providing internships for STEM majors, but that shouldn't deter you from finding experiences by yourself."

"I highly encourage those who don't know what they want to attend a community college prior to a 4-year. It allows you to figure out what you want without a lot of debt. I love my degree. I am good at the subject and it will help me later on in my health profession. I studied enzymatic processes and biochemical pathway which will help when I study metabolic diseases in the future."

"The University of California at Davis was a dream. The campus is beautiful and like an 80's movie about what a college should look like. I worked on campus as well as attended and both endeavors I wish I could do again. First the History Department: yes, yes I know, history is boring... WRONG. History is amazing. The teachers at Davis are genuinely interested in their subjects! They even write the books that OTHER colleges use for their lectures. I still own all the books that Professor Rauchway wrote on modern america, including "Killing McKinley" among others. The English Department was so much fun and office hours are where to be for an English Major. The teachers get to know you, and your likes and dislikes. They take those into account during grading and book selection. Take the Jane Austen Seminar. It was amazing. Campus is beautiful, and the Quad and Memorial Union are the best places to meet people, study and grad a delicious bite to eat."

"I absolutely adore UC Davis. The town is very involved with the campus so outside events are hosting in the community that way you never fully feel like an outsider. Additionally, the courses are very informative and help me to this day. I cannot begin to describe how much I loved taking all the courses outside my major for my GE. Finally, the dorms, I loved living there and I made some lifelong friends in the process!"

"Whatever university you attend, make sure to do it with a purpose. In that vein, UC Davis is no exception. As with other large public universities, undergraduates are both afforded myriad opportunities to explore various interests both academic and extracurricular but are also a very small fish in a very large pond. Some lecture halls hold over 300 people, so by design you are just a dot in the crowd. That is, unless you try to stand out. That said, the campus is gorgeous. It has a distinct agricultural feel (UC Davis started an agricultural satellite for UC Berkeley), and the city around the university is very much a "college town". There are more bicycles per capita than any city in the world, and because the area is largely flat you won't need to peddle up many steep hills."

"As a student coming from a large city, adjusting to the town of Davis was difficult at first. Large cities offer this bustling lifestyle that provides a constant range of activities, as well as this sense of anonymity/privacy when doing them. However, after finding a good group of friends, the town will eventually morph into your second home. I truly miss being a part of the Davis community now. Also, unlike other small town colleges, UC Davis is an hour outside San Francisco, and only 30 minutes away from Sacramento. Both of these cities will give any big-city dweller the fix they need. As far as academics, UC Davis has many resources to ensure the success of their students. From free tutoring, to professor's office hours, to CAPS (counseling services), to the ARC (gym free to students) you are guaranteed to find an outlet that will help you in any aspect you may be struggling with. That being said, it is up to you as an individual to ensure you are utilizing the resources. Since UC Davis has over thirty-five thousand students, there is not going to be anyone looking after you, besides yourself. It is easy to fall by the wayside if you do not have the personal motivations or friends by your side. One of my favorite aspects of UC Davis is how the city is structured to be as bike-friendly as possible. Even the amateur-cyclist will feel safe biking around the town (but definitely brush up on your bike etiquette aka know how to signal). Overall, UC Davis is a wonderful university that will surely give you a renowned education and memories that you will cherish for a lifetime."

"The University of California, Davis offers a unique hands-on learning experience that incorporates face-to-face interactions with professors as well as the ability to have dialogue with other students. This learning style greatly enhances the ability of individuals to quickly master the materials at hand, while simultaneously gaining a new understanding of difficult subject matter that would be a struggle for most."
