"UC Davis is a well-rounded, public university in a small, supportive community. The biological sciences degree provides a solid general education in the field of biology, as well as some specialization in a chosen "area of emphasis". I emphasized in plant biology and was impressed by the professors, staff, and available resources. As the school has grown, even more resources have been made available to new students to enhance the quality of student life. The biological sciences major is an excellent starting point for new students who aren't sure what they want to study, but would like a solid science education."

"Davis is an amazing community as well as a fantastic college . . . as long as you don't bother with a car. Davis is the perfect town for bicyclists. There is absolutely no need to have a car in Davis. In fact, a car will slow you down because the campus is closed to cars."

"Davis helped me be more competitive in the work force and provided me with experiences that I otherwise would not have had, guiding me into a field I did not know much about, but now love. On top of securing a career, it helped me collaborate with others, be more social, and gain a breadth of knowledge."

"Davis is a great school with a college town feel. It is not an ideal school for transfer students as there isn't transfer housing and because classes are so large it can be difficult to make friends in classes."

"This major provided a wide range of education and experiences that prepared me for a variety of options upon graduation. While there was no clear direction for graduates, the knowledge gained prepared me for most anything I considered pursuing."

"Being a student at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management has been a transformative experience. I had very big goals when I began the program and have had the support and education to not just meet those goals, but to surpass them. The supportive culture, small class size, and unlimited access to faculty and staff have all been important contributors to the excellent quality of my education here."

"The Psychology faculty are well known academics and helpful mentors. The program offers quality education in various research methods and a collaborative research environment. Not everyone likes living in a small town, but I love it! Davis is a cute little cycling town surrounded by interesting and exciting opportunities for city and wilderness adventures."

"Brilliant and engaged group of faculty and students. Supportive community. Relaxed lifestyle. Quality coursework. Cutting-edge research programs. Beautiful setting, if a bit quiet. An exciting place to be a grad student. Very few cons."

"Obtaining a Masters in Health Sciences for the Physician Assistant Studies program at UC Davis is challenging, but a wonderful opportunity for interdisciplinary learning. It trains well prepared Physician Assistants to work hand in hand with physicians. It truly is a great program and I love it!"

"Great faculty access, good research support, no financial competition between students, collaborative atmosphere, and nice town and area. The offices are pretty cramped with no alternatives in the building for a quiet place to work, some of the class hours are a bit unreasonable given that grad students often cannot live on campus (for example ending at 9pm, starting the next day at 8am), and conference funding is very scarce which dosoncentivizes networking outside the department."

"i was enrolled in another PhD program in east coast in US and then in came to Davis. If i would compare, I feel a lot more pressure here due to the competitive atmosphere, which is not necessarily a bad thing to graduate students."

"Pros - Extremely friendly and collaborative graduate group. Professors and students are there to help each other perform the most cutting edge research. Being in such close proximity to the veterinary school and the medical campus allows for translational research and allows access to facilities and collaborations that would normally be unavailable."
