"Pros: The DPT department's faculty is absolutely amazing. There is a great variety of expertise among them that they are able to bring to the classroom. The department has their own, private building that allows students after-hours access to lab materials and study rooms. Several classes require hands-on treatment sessions with clients from the community and this allows students to build their skills on providing quality client care. Cons: I have no complaints!"

"The program's estimated cost of attendance is very low and causes an extreme added stress on students to have to work to financially support themselves and balance school course work."

"I enjoyed UCA and the campus. What I did not enjoy was how hard they made the Biology courses. It was overly complex, with very little hands on work, unlike other colleges."

"The pros of my program is most things are hands on and your are able to better learn by experiencing the items rather than just reading about it."

"The DPT program at UCA is, to put it bluntly, amazing! The professors are all very helpful and are always available. The workload, at times, can be overwhelming; however, it is manageable if you manage your time wisely (which I need to work on more!). The campus is pretty and there is always something going on. The town has everything you might need: strip mall, downtown shops and boutiques, a variety of restaurants, movie theater, etc. It is also only 15-30 minutes from Little Rock, depending on traffic. There are numerous apartments available within a short distance from the campus with a fairly wide price range. I had a few DPT programs to choose from and was stuck between UT Galveston and UCA...I'm so glad I chose UCA!"

"All the faculty, including the head of the Department of Occupational Therapy, are inspiring in their passion for their profession as well as each student's learning, successful completion of the program and board exam, and fulfilling career. Faculty members seek to present the information in a variety of ways to let each student learn in their own way. They also try to include very active learning methods, such as interviewing OTs in the field, having them come speak to us in class, and debating theories of OT rather than reading about them in a book."

"My graduate program is great for the diversity it offers its students. Our English department offers a rich variety of courses and flexibility for its graduate students. The faculty is generally very accessible and willing to work closely with students. As is the case with many liberal arts departments, ours does not provide funding for conferencing and other similar academic endeavors that are essential to graduate students who are interested in pursuing doctoral degrees. While students are expected to cover a great deal of material for comprehensive exams, the required reading list far exceeds that of many other MA programs and is quite burdensome. However, this represents the high standards and expectations of the program and will undoubtedly produce candidates who are better prepared for doctoral programs and academic life at large."

"The best part of the DPT program is the quality of the professors. They are very helpful and know the subjects they are teaching very well. The education that is taught is based both on the theoretical ideas and clinical experience in the field. The con to this program is that the area is not very well populated and because of this, there are less socialĀ opportunities and requires driving to get to some events."

"The University of Central Arkansas offers a very good Higher education graduate program. The pros of the program are numerous. One being the cohort model which allows first year students to take all of their classes together and this builds a bond along with professional networking. Most students in this program also have graduate assistantships on campus which allows us to apply what we lean in our courses to the real world. There are very accessible faculty and staff who are more than willing to help in any way. The program also gives international exposure and experience by travelling together as a cohort to China once a year to visit some universities. The program is steadily growing and becoming better each year so I would not say there are cons to this program! -Go Bears!"

"I am a member of the inaugural class of the Arkansas Writers MFA workshop and I LOVE it. The faculty are so wonderful, very concerned and supportive. The classes so far have been challenging and great fun. I highly recommend it to any creative writer out there looking to get their MFA."
