"The pros of the program is the timeline in which the program can be completed. It is designed so that you can rely on others when you are in need. The con is how overwhelming things can become, but this is still worth it."

"Pros: I will be prepared to take the ABGC Board exam when I graduate. The faculty and staff are supportive and available. Students begin clinical rotations during their first semester and begin working on their thesis first semester also. Cons: The work-load is sometimes unbearable, but students always manage to make it through."

"The program understands the demands on working professionals attending grad. school. The only negative is the cost of attendance for out-of-state students, but it is managable!"

"The actual courses provide realistic examples and case studies which are great. Being a school in a city, it is expensive and there is very little financial aid."

"The pro of my graduate program is that I am able to participate in the distance learning program. Upon researching, I found that the Univ. of Cincinnati was ranked in national top 3 in MS of Criminal Justice programs, but living in Indianapolis, that would be a far commute. With the use of blackboard and email communication, I have found that I am still receiving the same amount of education and attention as those who are "psychically" in class. While it would be nice to have the more personal interaction that attending class on campus would provide, the distance learning program has made me feel just as involved."

"University of Cincinnati is a good school, and I learned a lot from my undergrad that I can take away as I pursue my graduate school experience. However, the surrounding area is not safe for students. I would like to feel safe at my school that I study at, especially since my tuition is not cheap."

"I really love the small class size and availability of faculty. If I have a question or need something explained to me, there is never a problem. I also like that all of my classes are in the same classrooms and we have lockers to hold all of our equipment. The only negative I have to say about my program is the heavy work load. However that is to be expected in any school of this caliber and I should use it as an opportunity to learn as much as possible while I am in school."

"As with any school there are positives and negatives. The school generally does a good job of reaching out and supporting the students in whatever capacity. The is a balanced group of students when it comes to diversity. The work load is intense, depending on the class and professor. Overall, the program is effective and is continue to work to provide a better experience for its students."

"The program I am in really wants to help students learn and succeed. There are always extra helpful websites, notes, readings, etc for each week that are not required but help with understanding if a student is struggling. At times it can be difficult to reach a professor but usually one will respond to you within a 48 hour period."

"Department is fickle about funding, but assistantships outside department are available. The majority of negatives from my review regard the availability of faculty to students of the terminal master's program (which is currently on its way out). However, faculty take very limited time to work with master's, provide very little funding to master's, and do not make any attempt to locate job opportunities for master's students. If I could go back, I would definitely NOT seek a terminal master's here unless I was planning to enter the PhD program."

"The staff and advisers for this program are outstanding. They give feedback and responses in a very expedient manner and are always available for support. They encourage student-student interaction and also provide an environment for working together. The campus is beautiful and offers two cafeterias, a huge gym/rec center, and the football field is located right on campus embedded in the ground so you can see it from most every building. There is a shuttle that transports students for free around campus, downtown, and local neighborhoods that provide entertainment, nightlife, shopping, and food. It is a very safe campus that is constantly patrolled and there is an email system that informs students immediately of any threats, attempted crimes, and arrests made in relation to these happenings."
