"Love this school! I love how the professors will work with you and are available for extra help should you need it. There is a real sense of community at UGA. There are so many organizations and campus offices dedicated to helping students succeed in their field. So many resources to help prepare you for your career, before and after graduation. I will admit it took some time for me to adjust to their rigorous academics coming from a small urban high school, but it was worth it."

"I look forward to the day that I look back and realize that deciding to attend the University of Georgia for the Master's of Environmental Planning and Design program was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Prior to being accepted into the program and prior to even knowing UGA was the perfect destination for me, I had established several general goals and formulated a plan on how I would get to where I wanted to be in life. I knew one step along this path would be going back to school for a graduate education and I would seize this opportunity as fully as possible. I recognized that I will get out of it what I put into it. What was even more obvious to me, however, is that not all graduate programs are created equal, even if they specialize in the same subject. The University of Georgia's MEPD program stood out to me as having the potential to bestow upon me vastly more real-world relevant learning experiences. So far, after only one semester, UGA has taught me that I am capable of exponentially more than I thought. So not only has the program been a confidence builder, but as far as the program's subject matter, it is everything I could have asked of it and more. The faculty are great people and extremely knowledgeable in their diverse areas of expertise. The school provides an unparalleled setting for learning both in and outside of the classroom. I am well on my way to where I want to be in the future, but for now I am thoroughly enjoying where I am."

"University of Georgia provides a great combination of rigorous academics and entertaining social events. I had fun while at school, but I also feel like my degree was well worth the money. I always had great professors, too. Not to mention, the campus itself is beautiful!"

"The culture at University of Georgia is very diverse. There are wonderful instructors, but often times these individuals prioritize their research over their teaching responsibilities. The program is slightly above average, but there is little to know assistance in professional development."

"I liked it overall and thought I received a good education but did not like dealing with liberals that run many of the colleges these days."

"The University of Georgia has some of the best professors and students in the nation. This university shapes innovators, hall of fame persons, and so much more. My specific degree program offered great resources to educate us in volunteer opportunities and higher education. Not only are the academics stellar, the athletic department is on point. There is so much to do in Athens and I am proud to be a Georgia Bulldawg."

"I loved attending the University of Georgia. I had a full, well-rounded college experience. I lived in a dorm freshman year, joined a sorority and other clubs, and took a variety of classes. I majored in middle grades education, specializing in math and science. While I loved the program, once I entered the workforce I didn't feel adequately prepared. I had learned what to do in the ideal classroom environment; I didn't realize how little time and flexibility I would have as a classroom teacher, or how many administrative tasks I would be expected to complete while also planning lessons and grading papers. I have heard that other programs prepare their students better by exposing them to more practicum experiences (in my program we had one practicum, then another practicum that usually was the same placement for your student teaching for a total of three semesters in the field, but only two locations)."

"The College of Environment + Design at UGA is run by an amazing group of faculty and staff that have created an intense and thorough program. You are surrounded by faculty who want to inspire you and push you to think more than just completing a deadline. The CED also offers lots of opportunities for additional learning, support, and creative outlets. While financial packages have decreased due to UGA-wide changes, the CED administration is committed to trying to get everyone the financial help they need."

"UGA is a located in a university town which is great. The school is large with many resources and the classes are challenging. The financial aid package is generous. The student population tends to be a bit homogeneous, so diversity is lacking. Network is strong and wide reaching."

"Hello All. Currently, I am enrolled in at the University of Georgia's Master's of Social Work program. I attend the Gwinett campus which is significantly more diverse (e.g., ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, professional background, disability) than the main Athens campus. The thing I love the most about the Social Work program at the University of Georgia (Gwinett Campus) is the emphasis put on the students becoming healthy practitioners/social worker by helping us to develop our own self awareness so that our personal biases do not interfere with the services we will provide to our future Clients. The professors I have encourage are genuinely passionate about social justice and their students. I currently work as a Substance Abuse counselor in training and through this program I have been able to become a better skilled and healthier provider for the people I counsel."

"The MSW program at UGA is a great program. I had a smooth transition from undergrad to grad school and the work does not seem to be particularly difficult for me. However, the social work field as a whole seems to be lacking in diversity and curriculum surrounding race/ethnicity and intersectionality with respect to the aforementioned. This program is also good because you have two field placements. One the spring semester of your first year and the other one the entire second year. I would recommend it for people who are interested in clinical work moreso than community."

"I attended The University of Georgia for my Bachelors in Psychology. I was there all four years and was able to work part time on campus for three of them. As for my education, I was happy with the majority of the courses that I took. Some of the general education requirement classes were a little trying at times because I only needed them to graduate and did not find them interesting or enjoyable. I enjoyed my psychology courses and liked most of my professors. The downside to being at a large research institution is that getting to know your professors is difficult to do unless you go to office hours regularly. Most professors in the psychology department are researchers and many do not inherently enjoy teaching, which can make for harder classes and less personal connection with students during class. I also had professors leave to go to conferences and miss class, which is good for the university but not for the students. I was very disappointed with the advisers for my major. We have two for all psychology majors and the one I had knew virtually nothing about applying to graduate school beyond that I had to take the GRE. I had to do a fair amount of research on my own that I feel could have been provided by the department easily. I did not feel that anyone was all that interested in me as an individual, especially as one person among hundreds of other psychology majors. You must make a concerted effort to get to know people and get anything done. Overall though the classes were enjoyable and I learned a lot about advocating for myself and my professional ambitions."

"UGA has been such a great school. I have been so fortunate to attend this school and have learned so much. There have been so many great things that I have been able to do because of attending UGA. The city of athens is also unlike any other, and I have loved that it is all catered to the university students. UGA has been amazing! Go Dawgs!"

"The University of Georgia has given me so many opportunities to thrive as an undergraduate. Through the career center, advisors, and faculty, I have definitely been prepared for the career that lies ahead of me. Student groups that focus on future career paths, have brought in many professionals in the field, as well as, graduate schools to broaden our horizons on the subject matter and prepare us for our future. The hands on experience that I have received in my field is unlike any other that I have heard of at other undergraduate schools. I have been given the opportunities to work with physical therapists at a few local clinics and work with people with disabilities one on one in the classroom for the past year and a half. I have loved my time at UGA, and it has truly prepared me for what I have ahead of me in the upcoming years."

"The best thing about the University of Georgia is the flexibility allowed to graduate students when selecting the courses to take. Students take courses that are beneficial to them! Also, the faculty are friendly and I had a close relationship with the faculty in majority of my classes. It's a two way interaction between student and faculty. Athens is a great student town and new students will have plenty of places to visit and have fun. Seriously, join UGA."

"The University of Georgia was the best school all around. I learned so much in the field that I am interested in and have had the chance to study with some of the brightest minds in the nation. I will be starting my doctor of physical therapy degree in a couple of months and I know that my bachelor's degree has prepared me for everything that will come. The science courses seemed impossible at first but now I know that it is important when potentially dealing with people's health in the future. My best piece of advice would be for students to use every opportunity to get involved and build relationships with your professors. This is very important because this will land you solid recommendation letters when applying for graduate school programs."

"My degree program at UGA was incredibly beneficial for those that are interested in pursuing a medical (PA, NP, MD) career in the future. This major is heavily focused on anatomy, physiology and real-life case studies. The advisers for my college were incredibly flexible, working with me to add classes that I needed to meet graduate school prerequisites. Overall I highly recommend this major, especially if you are pursuing a career as a PA."
