"The MSW program at UGA has a very prestigious history that will enable me to have more opportunities in particular fields. However, I found obtaining financial aid in any capacity was rather difficult to obtain, especially if you did not have any debt when entering the graduate program. This was slightly discouraging since I am someone who worked very hard to not accumulate debt in my undergrad and worked very hard for a 3.95 GPA."

"There is a total campus population of over 30,000 in a town of around 180,000 which makes Athens, GA a "college town". The campus is beautiful, the traffic very manageable, and the cost of living is unbelievably amazing. The graduate program at the University of Georgia is intensive, challenging, rewarding and fun. The professors are approachable and genuinely interested in your academic and professional career. UGA has a very strong reputation in and outside the state of Georgia. One negative aspect I have had with the graduate program overall, not specifically my program, is their communication. It was a frustrating process to try and find out information about my application, admissions requirements, and other miscellaneous information. Overall, I would highly, highly, recommend this university."

"It's a good program overall. The classes are interesting for the most part and I have a lot of respect for the faculty. The career support leaves a bit to be desired, but I understand that it's not a great economy right now as well."

"University of Georgia's graduate program was small but very active and talented. The staff were the most accessible I've seen at any college, and the cohort focused a lot of inter-disciplinary cooperation. It was a great experience."

"Pros: Amazing town, great classes, lots of practical experience in internship Cons: Large program, lack of focus on community empowerment tract, few assistantships to offer students for financial assistance"

"The neuroscience program is highly interdisciplinary which is both a strength and weakness. This is a strength because a student can focus on virtually any area of neuroscience they want and can collaborate with other labs and faculty members associated with the program to improve the quality and breadth of their research. This is a weakness because the students are spread out all over campus and so the community mentality and peer support is lacking."

"Great department, lots of cooperative studies within department, lots of research opportunity, well known faculty. But in-class education could be better in some areas because faculty focus is research."

"The program was what I made of it. I entered during a time of major transition for the faculty, and I thought they handled it exceptionally considering the circumstances. The professors were understanding, helpful, and very connected within their respective branches of social work."

"The Department of Geology at the University of Georgia offers a wide variety of courses for all geologic interests. Many professors in Geology work with professors and students from other earth/physical sciences departments. The building is in a great location in the middle of campus next to the football stadium. This is an excellent department with great opportunities to further your education, network, and career."

"Overall, this program will put me in the best position to begin my career. The education quality is great but sometimes the work load is not manageable. The school is also very expensive especially for an out-of-state student who is not being funded."

"The faculty are great and go out of their way to help students. They truly like what they are doing in the university setting. The lab spaces are great but the program itself could use some adjustments as far as structure of classes and requirements. I believe they are in the process of making changes so it will be improved."

"Pros: The Clinical Exercise Physiology program is a great preparation for cardiac rehab or other areas of interest in a clinical setting. It provides plenty of hands on experience (400-600hrs required) through the clinical hours or internship. The program also prepares and requires students to sit for the ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist certification in order to graduate. Have this certification not only sets the student up for more career opportunities, but also prepares the students to sit to become a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiology which is a more advanced version of the CES exam. Cons: This program at this university in particular is not flexible, and somewhat unorganized or undecided as to what electives are appropriate. This is a full time program, meaning the courses are not offerred at any time during the year. They are only offerred during certain semesters and the program is meant to be completed within 1.5-2 years. It its difficult to have a job on the side while doing the program full time (meaning about 15hours/semester). Obtaining the clinical hours becomes almost a full time job."

"I am still on my first year here at UGA but it has been fun. There are a lot of orgs that support students and the community in general is very helpful. Faculties are experts in their respective fields, very knowledgeable, and easy to approach. Grad students are very friendly. Night life in Athens is also something to look forward to. Overall, the university offer a balance between life inside and outside of school."
