"UH's Bauer college of business is a fantastic school. I feel that the degree carries weight and is looked upon favorably by employers. Especially in oil and gas. The teachers were fantastic and the curriculum was rigorous. I would highly recommend Bauer to friends and family."

"The University of Houston is an excellent institution that continues to improve as it ages. President Renu Khator has done an outstanding job pursuing the advancement of this University from receiving the title of Tier One to the development of their football team. The tuition is fair and financial aid office offers many opportunities for earning more aid- from work study to the B-on-Time loan. My professors have been wonderful instructors and Kinesiology degree plan has been quite rigorous, which will prepare me as a pursue a degree in Physical Therapy. The parking situation leaves something to be desired as there may not be enough parking spaces for all of the students whom attend the university. The prices for the parking permits continue to rise along with the price of the parking citations and the number of security guards looking to give out citations. The safety of the campus leaves something to be desired as there is almost a bi-weekly report of a dangerous incident on campus- from a student or faculty member being robbed at gunpoint to a car backfire. The university recreation center is excellent, however I have heard now they are limiting which students can have access to it, which I am hoping is also reflected in their tuition. There are continuous developments ongoing in this university from the renovation of the student center, to dorm rooms and living facilities to the athletic center. Many of whom have graduated long ago may not be able to recognize it anymore, and it may be for the best. However there are still certain things to improve on, which I hope those in the position to produce change are striving for."

"The campus is in a central location in the city. There are multiple light rail stops on the metro-rail if you live off campus and do not want to deal with the parking meters, they are sticklers and it is not always a guarentee despite having a parking pass."

"The University of Houston is an amazing campus to gain a useful education. There are both diverse faculty members and students and a variety of extracurricular activities to become involved in. The campus is beautiful and has wonderful public transportation. Although majority of students do not live on campus there are a variety of resources for students who choose to live on campus. I was equally challenged and supported at this university and if you choose to attend I believe you will be as well."

"UH is a great school that is the most underrated campus in Texas. You are not only in one of the largest cities in the US but also one of the most diverse. UH's campus reflects the city very well and provides a place to be challenged and innovative."

"I really enjoyed my 3 years at the University of Houston. As a transfer student from community college, I had absoluteIy no idea what I was getting myself into when I transferred to a Tier One mega institution like UH. I was accepted to and graduated twice from the business school with a BBA and Master of Science in Accounting. I contribute most of my success to the fact that chose to major in a very difficult subject, and my participation in a professional program that helped me to grow my professional network immensely in a very short amount of time. Through the connections I made at my school, I was able to land an internship with one of the top companies in the world almost two years before I graduated. That internship turned into a full-time job offer, and as a result I have been able to finish my master's degree in peace without the added stress of recruiting and interviewing. I recommend that all students find out what type of work they are interested in by either working part-time or participating in paid/unpaid internships. The biggest differentiator between myself and someone who did not leave UH with as much success is the amount of personal growth I went through before/during/after enrolling. Four years of college goes by quickly, and often times it is not enough time to be exposed to everything we need to make us the type of employee/professional/person we want to be. The best way to minimize the chances of that happening to you is to get involved, step out of your comfort zone EARLY, and select a major/career field that allow you to chase your passions, or at least afford to when you have time! The accounting program at the University of Houston has done that for me, and I will be forever grateful."

"It's a great college with a friendly and innovative curriculum. It focuses on the energy industry, which is very pervasive in Houston. Also, it is fairly priced and offers great networking opportunity."

"Pursuing my undergraduate and now graduate degree at the University of Houston has been one of the most rewarding experiences. The college of liberal arts and social sciences is not only one of the largest but also one of the most diverse in terms of all the different students that you will encounter. My professors for anthropology pushed me to think critically and to further understand the world around me with complete insight. As a graduate student, I can also say that not only are these some of the best professors to work with, but that they really do care about student success. A big part of choosing to continue my graduate studies at University of Houston was due to the professors I would be able to continue to learn from as they are all very knowledgeable and respected in their field."

"In a school that is known for diversity, soft skills, like communicating with people of different backgrounds are easily gained. In the field of pharmacy, it is important that you're able to counsel patients on appropriateness of medications, and with the tools earned at University of Houston, this is done more effectively."

"The university is a great school for students planning to go into the energy sector, in terms of jobs. It also has a great business school, music school and architecture school. I recommend the honors program. It is top notch. There is limited campus engagement and is a predominantly commuter school."

"The University of Houston, Bauer College of Business has an excellent program for business majors. The Bauer College of Business has its own career center, separate from the main Universities career center. The Bauer College of Business Career Center offers many opportunities for students to network with employers, and recruiters."

"I greatly enjoyed my time at the University of Houston. I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Media Production. This degree would have been useful in the radio or television field, but I started teaching instead. From what I remember, the degree plan was very fun. I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn about AVI equipment and the overall production process in radio and television. The University offered quite a few degree options and classes to help me achieve my goals."

"Great program especially if you are interested in the Oil & Gas industry. The program works well for those working full-time and you have many elective options for how you can tailor your MBA program to what you'd need after graduation. The professor have been great."

"I am currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at University of Houston's Bauer College of Business. Although I am a Houston native, I received my undergraduate degree from an out-of-state institution. It has been great to not only attend school in my hometown, but also to see how involved the alumni network is across the professional realm of Houston. My cohort is extremely diverse; we represent a variety of races, ages, and professional backgrounds, our class discussions are enhanced by our various experiences and knowledge base. Our professors are also well versed in their fields. It is encouraging to know that I am sitting in a classroom learning from professors who are enriching my learning with their professional and academic experience. Outside of classes, the Rockwell Career center is top-notch! They have been very helpful as they guide us through the career and internship search. Their help extends past resume reviews. The career advisors walk you through career and personality assessments to help you get a solid vision of the next step in your career. I am very confident that I will enter a career that I love post-graduation, simply because of the hands-on work with my career advisors."

"The University of Houston is the most progressive university in Texas today. The entire state covers 268,597 square miles. That's 7% of the land mass for the United States! With all of that space, you're bound to find some amazing and well established institutions for higher education - UT- Austin and Texas A&M to name a few. While the University of Houston (UH) hasn't been in direct competition with these two entities, the recent announcements of obtaining Tier One Research University status, being awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter, and dominating the football field in 2015 as put UH in position to become the best university in Texas. As an undergrad attending the one of the top hospitality schools in the country, the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at UH, I had access to local, national and global networking events. Everyday in class was an opportunity to learn not only the curriculum, but also the soft, personal skills it takes to be successful in the industry and in life. Hilton College and UH have greatly prepared me for where I am going. I am now enrolled to start my graduate degree program for Fall 2016 at the University of Houston."

"Your journey at UH is what you make of it. You need to network by putting forth the effort to go and meet as many people and alumni as possible. I enjoyed meeting seasoned professionals as well as people my age. If you expect to just be welcomed into a professional network, maybe this school isn't community-oriented enough for you."
