"The graduate program in psychology can be very personalized for your particular division within psychology. They require you take complete a minor and take some courses outside of your division in psychology. I wish they had a set of core courses for the behavioral neuroscience division that everyone has to take and then electives on top of those requirements. Very few neuroscience-related courses are offered each semester, so there's not too much flexibility for this division within psychology."

"The University of Illinois MBA Program provides students with the core business skills needed to be successful in the workforce. They help you customize your very own MBA experience so that when you graduate you feel like you made the most of your two years there and you are ready to be successful in the business world. In order to differentiate themselves from other MBA programs the Illinois MBA creates an environment that has numerous opportunities inside and outside of the classroom to get involved and try new things. Not to mention the surrounding community always has stuff going on to blow off steam from the rigorous coursework."

"U of I is a ton of fun. Most people are really smart and know how to study hard. The bar scene is great too and I loved being in a sorority! There are so many 'perks' to this school!"

"My graduate program is intellectually rigorous and turns out well-rounded, well-educated scholars that are very prepared for and sought-after for postdoctoral positions after graduation. My peers are curious, motivated and kind, and my mentors are brilliant, accessible and motivating. I'm very happy to be here."

"Pros: We have a diverse and supportive community, a huge faculty with various interests. Supports networking through reimbursement program and causal meals. Cons: not enough office spaces. Compared to some other schools where you are assigned to a student office once and are allowed to use it until you graduate, uiuc math relocates you every year because they reduces the number of office spaces and makes temporary locations in further away buildings. All this process is based on who replies to an announcement email first. If you are busy and cant reply to an annnouncement email in a couple of hours, you are most likely to be kicked out from your office for the next entire academic year."

"The biggest strength is the size of the department and that everyone works together. The resources and access to technology also makes it easy to research a wide variety of fields."

"UIUC is overall a very good school. I am happy that I chose it to get my degree. In general, the faculty is excellent, with many intelligent, personable professors doing good research and teaching good classes. There are a lot of opportunities for students to participate in research as well, if desired. A couple of potentially negative aspects are that there is a huge drinking/partying culture there, with a ton of fraternities and sororities, and house parties going on all the time, so if someone is not interested in that, it might not be the best option in terms of social environment. Also, some classes/programs are too large for their own good, resulting in a somewhat sub-par classroom environment and experience. It's hard to genuinely learn when you are in a lecture of 150 people and the grade for the semester consists of four multiple choice tests. But overall you get a good education and there are a lot of opportunities to get involved in any extracurricular activity you can think of."

"Higher Education is the key; more specifically a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math. A background in STEM is a solid footing to be competitive in the job market. Also, do not discount trade schools by any means. Mechanics, Welders, Carpenters, Electricians are the people who make this world around us happen and readily find jobs almost anywhere and at any time."

"The Nuclear Engineering graduate program at UIUC is strong in one main area, Research. All professors focus heavily on their research, and in the process furthering the careers of the graduate students that work with them. Classes focus heavily on furthering a students ability to analyze and report on findings from research. This however means that the classic sense of a classroom may not be what is present."

"I'm attending UofI for a PhD in social psychology, and I like it! The one downside is that you'll be surrounded by cornfields for most of the time. But it's a really great school and program!"
