"The pros of the accounting graduate program at the University of Kansas are the preparation that it provides students for work, balancing work and life outside of work, and the preparation that it provides for the CPA exam. The cons of the program, being a student paying for graduate school out of pocket, are the cost and financial burden that students are left with during and after school. My goal, and I have been successful up to this point, is to leave school with no debt."

"I have nothing but pros for the graduate program at the University of Kansas. I transferred to Kansas from Iowa and had nothing but support. Going to KU is a great experience and they have everything that a student needs. My graduate program is tough but allows you to learn and study and become the professional that you want to become."

"The program is really fantastic despite being constrained by outside forces such as budget cuts. All of the professors make you feel a part of the faculty. It is a unique master's program in that it makes you take both African and African American courses. The program also has FLAS funding to pay for all of your tuition and it gives you a stipend to live off of during the year."

"The University of Kansas School of Pharmacy is an amazing program utilizing the newest technology available. With two separate locations in the state of Kansas, attending the University of Kansas is easy, and with IT use students at both campuses receive the same lectures each and every day. The staff and faculty are motivating and very helpful in all aspects. The program is set up to provide students with information and experience necessary in the real world."

"I studied at University of Kansas for four years for an undergraduate program, and it has become my second hometown. That's why I returned to seek a master degree. I totally love it! Our music therapy program is the BEST in the nation, and faculty members are super knowledgeable and supportive. I've never been disappointed by the quality of education. It was a little hard to get financial aid in our department, especially as an international student; but seriously, it's worth everything to study here:)"

  • Degree: Public Administration
"The Master of Public Administration program is unique in that the courses and staff provide you with the background and resources to explore your particular area of interest in public administration while preparing you to make real life choices on the job. There is a great balance of personal freedom to explore what is important to you, while also ensuring students have historical as well as current knowledge of the public administration field. There are two campuses in Lawrence and Overland Park, which make it easy to attend classes while working. Class times and staff are very flexible. There is a fairly heavy workload expected, but it is not unreasonable given the field of study."

"KU was a first choice for Graduate school. The education is ranked number 13 among all graduate architecture programs and the career support after graduation is really good. The course is designed so you are involved in professional practice during school, that way when you graduate, you aren't thrown to the wolves in the career field. KU has been a great education so far and the next year and a half will be very beneficial."

"My graduate program for special education is ranked within the top 5 graduate schools in the nation - their professors are very knowledgeable, accommodating and the information presented in the classes are relevant and up to date. The only con regarding my graduate program is the distance - two times a week I drive approximately one hour to attend classes which is extremely costly."

"Next to no funding support is provided for the SJD program, whereas every other academic school in the University provides GTA/GRA/GA opportunities that minimize the financial strain on their students in the research doctorate program. There is no platform for older SJD students to meet and interact with incoming ones. The SJD degree is actually the U.S. version of a PhD in Law. Therefore, SJD students ought to have designated offices or study areas that are sufficiently enhanced for research and writing purposes. The program offers some ideal flexibility in terms of requisite coursework and rubrics for course assessment, which is good."
