"UMass Amherst has left me beyond satisfied with the education I have received. With my degree of concentration I was provided the opportunity to build relationships with highly esteemed professors, who have helped me exponentially with advice for my future. Even though it is a large school I never felt I was unable to build relationships with my professors, compared to other large schools. I always felt I had someone to go to during a time of high stress and they were there to help with open arms and insightful advice. It had provided me with an amazing undergraduate education that has definitely prepared me for graduate studies and for the workforce. I would definitely recommend UMass Amherst to prospective students as an amazing option. One of the things I have liked most about UMass is the amazing people it brought into my life and the lifelong friendships I now have from my undergraduate career."

"The University of Massachusetts at Amherst is a terrific university to attend, I would recommend it to anyone that I know. Career services and the writing service have both helped me make a pristine resume and personal statement for which I used to apply to my graduate school. Try have also helped on numerous occasions for me to try and apply for jobs and decide what career I wanted to go in. The courses as well are easy to choose from by using their online system. Courses are what you would expect them to be, your result will be the effort that you put in for the class. It is quite easy to make connections with professors at this school, even though there are many students attending. Creating a niche and making a few friends in the same boat as you is also a lot easier than it seems for most people in college, my recommendation would be to try and make friends early on in freshman year, that's when everyone is most open to having all sorts of friends and giving everyone a chance. Housing is also made simple by using their online website, and there are many different locations to choose from depending on your life style. Security is also high on the list at this university, individuals can walk around campus at all hours and feel protected. Transportation to classes is not the easiest if you're relying on public transportation. The busses are ran by the PVTA and they only make stops on the main roads, so to get to the bus stops would be a decent walk from any on campus housing facility. None the less, they still bring you relatively close to classes. Besides the academics, the food on campus ranks as #1 by the Princeton Review for all colleges and universities around the country. Overall, I would give the school 4.5 stars out of 5. The only major thing there is to concern yourself with is the Massachusetts weather, one day it could be 70 degrees while the next could be 40, that is the only thing I haven't really figured out here myself. I would recommend this university to everyone I know."

"If you're thinking of going to UMass, look no further! It was an incredible community to be a part of and the variety of activities and opportunities to get involved both on and off campus paralleled the academics. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else!"

"Great school, and it is getting better every year. It is already expanding and focusing on improving their education and resources. Really good professors who care about students and actually are very willing to help them. They try to keep their valuable students in school by helping them financially, as well as academically. A lot of resources and a lot of admin willing to help."

"The University of Massachusetts Amherst is a city in itself. Although the school may be lacking in the diversity department, it provides great opportunities to get involved and find a niche amongst the large population of students. There are over 300 clubs to join to cater to the interests of many, including activities such as Quidditch. The institution is known for being a research institution. As a microbiology student I was highly exposed to research fundamentals and participated in a large array of projects. For those who are interested in STEM and obtaining hands on experience, UMass is the right place. However, the large volume of classes are not very conducive to classroom learning which means that most of your learning will have to be outside of class. Overall I would recommend this university to any student who is on the search of obtaining quality education while saving money on tuition. This university has provided me not only with hands on experience in my field but has exposed me to different cultures from the cultural registered student organizations on campus. If you do decide to attend this university I highly recommend getting out of your comfort zone and joining a cultural registered organization."

"In attending UMass Amherst for my undergraduate degree, I not only benefited from the professors, programs and courses from UMass but also from the 5 surrounding private schools in the area. Being a student in one of the 5 schools allows you to take classes at the other for no extra charge. Also I benefited in regards to my degree due to the abundance of resources my school had to offer. New laboratory buildings were being built during my undergraduate experience, making my class the first to work in the new environment. The campus is constantly improving itself. Beyond the academics, living at UMass Amherst was wonderful due to the 5 start dining quality UMass Amherst is known for. I highly recommend everyone visit and consider becoming a Minuteman!"

"College of nursing has great relevant programs. The professors are very helpful and have been great mentors. The courses is research focused and it is rigorous and very relevant. The diversity of the student body is very encouraging but more diverse faculty currently needed. The college just got a NIH grant to start a pilot self management center. Very exciting! the education at Umass Amherst college of nursing is superior."

"I absolutely loved studying Psychology at the University of Massachusetts. I started out keenly interested in pursuing a career in psychology but my studies opened me up to the formerly unknown world of science and clinical studies. I was able to participate in many studies and make many connections. I fell in love with science and switched onto the premed track, learning about Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Organic Chemistry. My time at Umass changed my loves and my interests and put me onto a new career path. I am hoping to gain admission to medical school and one day become and ER physician. I owe much thanks and credit to Umass for its formation in my passions and goals, and its help in shaping me as a person and a life-long student."

"It seems that the faculty all have a lot going on so it's hard to get their time and attention. However there are a number of older faculty that are very knowledgeable and supportive. The department is very close and most people gather for lunch in the lounge. The academic rigor seems to be lacking, partly because people are so busy that teaching related duties are not high on the priority. A lot of construction is currently going on and major renovations under way to improve the department."
