"Very strong school with smart students and a well-connected alumni network. Classes can be a challenge and there isn't a lot of handholding for those who need help. Successful students tend to be very good at time management and are pretty independent"

"U of M is a fantastic institution. The undergrad and graduate campuses are blended together fully, so there is frequent interaction between different levels of students. Ample opportunities for involvement in research, and more limited availability of teaching opportunities. Ann Arbor is also a fun town with lots of great restaurants."

"The University of Michigan has a lot of resources and degrees to offer. The thing I like the most for graduate students is you can find any type of research that interest you and the University of Michigan would have a lab working on that exact topic. There are many labs and research being conducted at UM and that is amazing."

"My years at the University of Michigan were the best years of my life. From enjoying the most exceptional instruction, to meeting people who I remain friends with to this day, there is nothing I could say that is not positive about U of M. The resources offered to students are endless, and the advice and mentorship I received from both the instructors and the more advanced students directly impacted my life, as I found work rather promptly after graduating thanks to their guidance. Even when I left Michigan to move to San Francisco, the U of M Alumni Association played a role in my life. I continued to stay in touch with U of M and my friends and mentors from that time, and always will!"

"I had an unforgettable experience at the UM SSW. I engaged with amazing faculty, met students from all over the world, and was exposed to plethora of resources and experiences that I previously been exposed. The racial/ethnicity diversity of the program was in need of some work, but some of that was contributed to the State of Michigan's earlier ruling that barred race-based admissions decisions. The school is expensive, so please heavily consider that when applying to the SW program. There are many other social work programs that may be financially reasonable, particularly because social worker's don't get paid that much"

"I was extremely satisfied with UM's academic programs in general and in the economics department specifically. The economics department offers many different options, so you can choose a path that focuses on more quantitative classes if that's what you want. The core requirement classes can be difficult and somewhat boring, but once you get through those, the electives are interesting and often quite practical."

"The University of Michigan- Ann Arbor is a remarkable school that challenges you in every way you want to be challenged in the classroom. Professors make the large school feel small. They take the time to get to know their students. The discussions are engaging, students are diverse and the course options are endless. Ann Arbor is a great place to study that has options for every type of student. Community service opportunities are everywhere, including the option of driving into Detroit. I highly recommend the University of Michigan for students looking for a school with a lot of school spirit, an incredible alumni network and a place to receive quality education. Go Blue!"

"I was very pleased with my education at the University of Michigan. The psychology department at U of M includes some of the top names in the field creating opportunities to network and participate in high powered labs. There are a vast variety of courses available students and it is possible to cater your educational experience to your specific interests. I became very interested in perception and neuroscience and was able to find classes about these subjects that counted toward my degree. Overall, I had an excellent experience at the University of Michigan and feel very prepared to enter my graduate studies in Occupational Therapy."

"The University of Michigan was a great learning environment for someone who enjoys rigorous coursework. The faculty are all experts in their fields, and also extremely accessible to students. This university (especially the sciences and health fields) have a very strong emphasis on research. I have a lot of research experience as well as academic and field experience to add to my resume as a result of my training program."

"University of Michigan is the home of great talent and resources in every field (Law, Business, Engineering, Arts, etc). Problems can be approached in a multidisciplinary way. Michigan hosts a lot of world-class researchers whom students can approach for cutting-edge knowledge. Also, Ann Arbor is a great place to do entrepreneurship. From Llamasoft, to BitBrew and Neurable, great companies have been founded in this area. Moreover, Michigan is the epicenterĀ of the next revolution in Autonomous Vehicles. However, not everything is perfect. The university has a lot of work to do in diversity, and inclusion. Greek life hurts the social atmosphere. There is a lot of conflict all around Michigan, and differences in privilege. The weather is harsh. There is a lot to be done. A lot of potential for change. With a little bit of critical optimism, I think U of M is THE place to be."

"The program is cohort style and therefore you interact with your classmates. The program also requires that you have an internship which was beneficial. The internship could take place in any department or college. It allowed many of my cohort classmates the opportunity to experience several different aspects of our field."

"The diversity of the program needs to be improved. Some of the teaching is great but some is not. Rely on students who have already taken courses to let you know who are the best teachers. I enjoyed the hands on nature of the program and the real experience I received through my field placement. This is the number one social work program in the country."

"The University of Michigan's musical theater department is well-known internationally as a first tier musical theater program, and none of what you heard is just hype. Indeed it is the place to go if you are looking for training and connections to professionals at the top of their field. Not only will you receive a top-notch education, you will be provided a learning environment that is both safe and nurturing which is critical for an artist that is developing their voice and talent."

"The University of Michigan is a great school. I did my undergrad degree at this school and now I am pursuing a graduate degree at the same institution. The Elmac program is designed for career changers that already have a Bachelor's degree. You receive your Master's in Education, along with teacher certification all within the space of a year."
