"Michigan Law is simply the best! Everyone is so congenial and the work load isn't that bad. The weather can be rough at times but otherwise its the best! Go Blue!"

"Pros: collaborative, intensive, hands-on, cutting edge Cons: you are trained in research-based, high leverage practices - but other theories, methods, and perspectives are not really touched on"

"The MSW program at the University of Michigan is tailored to your individual interests. The classes are engaging and the professors and students alike are passionate and knowledgeable about so many social justice issues. I am less than halfway through my program and I can already tell that it is going to prepare me incredibly well for the career I have ahead of me. One con is the lack of diversity of the program, which reflects the composition of the entire University of Michigan as a whole. Ann Arbor is also quite an expensive town in which to live, but there is always something going on to experience."

"Pros: Incredibly wide ranging academic experience. Have conducted valued research and been a program manager for several large projects in a sink or swim environment. Cons: Affordability of living. Ann Arbor is expensive for a small town. The workload does not afford the time required for a job outside of school and research."

"The school of social work is a great educational institution. In my first semester, I have met many great professors and peers. Being ranked #1 in the nation for social work, it is competitive to gain admissions. The university does come at a high price. At just under $20,000 per semester for tuition, the stress of loans becomes haunting at times."

"The architecture program at the University of Michigan is wonderful because it offers a wide variety of learning opportunities, in terms of types of classes and facilities such as their digital fabrication lab. The professors also participate in a wide spectrum of research projects, which is useful for the students to experience."

"U of M has a very good Japanese studies program due to the highly qualified faculty, however, because the program is small, the choice and diversity of graduate classes is poor. The lack of funding available to graduate students is also a problematic condition of the program."

"I think the classes offered are great. In my experience, the faculty is intelligent, approachable and very helpful. The in-state tuition is fair. Research conducted at the university is ground breaking and innovative. Transportation is convenient and the downtown Ann Arbor area is awesome. I think living expenses are kind of on the high side. Overall, U of M-Ann Arbor is a great school!"

"The program is fairly large due to it proximity with the medical school. A variety of specialized electives are offered that help in overall research development. However the program is not geared toward preparation for industry and requires more selectivity of students that are admitted into the program to increase overall graduate competitiveness."

"The University of Michigan graduate Architecture program is one of the most competitive and respectable in the country, and often lives up to or exceeds the good reputation surrounding it. The program has a diverse body of faculty to learn from, allowing you to really craft your individual experience here. In addition, the facilities are great, and the technology (a small army of Kuka robots) is cutting edge and impressive (when you take initiative to learn how to use them). Although Michigan may take a few years to master and offer more classes in technology, it is the balance of technology, theory, and practical design that makes it well rounded and a good choice. The only downside here is the large graduate class sizes."

"UMMS is a great place to learn medicine. The faculty and staff are generally medical student friendly. It is wonderful to be associated with a well known university. This allows medical students the opportunity to take advantage of state-of-the-art facilities and be a part of great innovation. Ann Arbor is a typical college-town with great love for their University sports teams."

"The University of Michigan Medical School is a well known program. It is well regarded everywhere. The school makes it easy to explore other interests outside of school, or take care of things beyond medical school. There is not a ton of individual mentorship built directly into the curriculum, so you need to be self-driven in that respect. Everyone here is very friendly, and Ann Arbor is a great place to live."

"I believe the MAcc program at UM is the best in the world. The teachers are well-versed and you have the option to take classes right along with MBA students. Outside of the classroom, their are many recruiting opportunities which make it practically impossible to graduate without a full-time offer. There are also numerous social events and since the program is relatively small and select, you really have the opportunity to get to know everyone on a personal level and establish a solid network for the future. Although the tuition is pretty high, Ross offers many more scholarships than any other school I've looked at. For those not familiar with Ann Arbor, it is not only a beautiful place to live, but also diverse and fun. You will never run short of things to do!"

Cons - Professors are primarily there for research and not teaching. - Old standard of teaching and reluctant to adopt new ways. - Technology is limited in the classroom. - Dental building is one of the oldest in buildings on campus. Renovations are necessary to keep standards up to date. - Lack of communication between professors who teach same course."
