"It is a program with knowledgeable easily accessible professors."

"While the faculty are helpful, the classes are reiterating what was taught in the book. Some discussion happens within classes, but students are not very engaged by the discussion. The practicum site is at the school, however I would not recommend it as supervisors look to confirm what was learned about the student in class. This could go in favor of the student, or against."

"UMKC is a great school located in the heart of Kansas City. The school is very diverse and cost effective."

"I thought the geosciences department at UMKC leaves a lot to be desired. It focuses more on geology and geography then environmental science. Other than a small group of teachers, most are too focused on research to offer much career advice or class advice. Offer basic classes in soil, air and water sampling/monitoring and the HAZWOPER should be a required class."

"There are very few cons about the JD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. As for the pros - the professors are extremely dedicated to the success of the students and strive to make themselves available to the students when help is needed. The Career Services Office is also very helpful and hardworking. They constantly send out updates of job openings and internship availability. One of the cons about the law program, as with any law program, is the cost. Federal loans help cover the cost for the time being, but once I graduate I will face a large amount of loans that will need to be repaid. I really appreciate organizations such as this one that try to help students cover some of the cost of their education."

"The Executive option for the MPA program is an excellent alternative for working professionals. The cohort model is tailored to student's life and level of career experience. I am very happy with this program and look forward to the career results it will bring."

"UMKC has an amazing dual degree program and staff for business and tax law. However, student loans and interest are outrageous! I would avoid a general liberal arts degree that doesn't provide you with some specific skill that makes you employable. I would do what I can at a junior college first before going to a 4 year university. Study abroad- amazing and very formative experience to grow as a person. Learn a foreign language; Spanish is very useful in the US. Remember that college should be a great experience but you may want grades that get you into grad school."

"Pros: The curriculum is well designed and the professors take their teaching seriously. The school's infrastructure is modern and studies friendly. Cons: Recent scandal about ratings is distracting."

"Good Program overall. The campus is pretty safe, we have security and blue phones everywhere. Bad things rarely happen. Could use more diversity. Our medical program is dominated by Indian Americans. We have a great faculty and staff. They respond to student emails and complaints very quickly. They are always around and accessible, they try their best to be helpful and our school offers a variety of career and financial counseling options."

"This program and University is partnered with my school district currently. This school is located close to my home. They are accredited."

"I like the faculty very much, although, some professors can be difficult to reach or to get a response from them. I feel the classes and fees are expensive. Certain professors assign an exorbitant amount of work. I feel that the quality of a student's work should be the focus and be given more importance than the quantity. Some assignments require such volume, it makes it difficult to balance additional classes."

"The faculty and staff of UMKC SOD were what really set this institution apart and helped me decide that this was the graduate program for me. The admissions process was very streamlined and they made sure to answer any questions I had along the way. The area surrounding the school is also very nice."

"Although I feel safe when I'm on campus, the pharmacy school isn't located in the best part of Kansas City and it is a ways away from the main campus. The only public transportation is the bus, so if you don't have a car then it is difficult to get around. Other than that so far I think it is a great program and I am learning a lot."

"I am actually in the satellite program for the UMKC School of Pharmacy, which allows me to stay on the University of Missouri's campus. I am so happy that I was able to stay in Columbia, where I did my undergrad, and still get all the benefits of being in pharmacy school! Most of my professors are in Kansas City, and we watch their lectures live and communicate with them from our own classrooms. The faculty members in Columbia are very supportive and truly have our best interests at heart! Although it may be more difficult to get to know our professors, I love being in this satellite program. Our classes are small, and with only 30 students, we have become a tight-knit group and are always there to help each other! Being in pharmacy school has made me a more confident person, and I feel that the material I am learning at UMKC will prepare me to be a competent and compassionate pharmacist!"

"I attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City Satellite Program on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, MO. Technology is a huge part of the program because most of our professors are in Kansas City and we must use telecom to watch them in our Columbia classrooms. So far, we seem to be learning very pertinent information for our careers as pharmacists, and the teachers are very supportive of our needs, even though we live in a different city!"

"The UMKC School of Dentistry is a great program offering clinical experience to students. They have a steady stream of patients that make it possible to get experience in a variety of case types. The faculty are, for the most part, great to work with and very supportive. One struggle that we face, however, as students is an inadequate number of specialized faculty to help us on tougher cases, which means that patients with difficult case types end up taking much longer to complete treatment than is reasonable. I do not think this is necessarily a unique problem to UMKC, and it shouldn't hinder progression toward graduation, but it is certainly something that could be addressed."
