"Our program ensures that all students get a chance to present their work twice a year and we receive feedback from faculty and students each time we present. The faculty and staff are incredibly supportive and are always available to help the students. The education of the students is, by far, the most important thing to the administration."

"Pros: - Friendly cooperative atmosphere within my department. - The whole town of Chapel Hill and surrounding area is overall progressive and well-educated. You sit down to dinner and overhear the people next to you discussing mathematic theory or the philosophy Kant. Cons: - Because it's a large school, it is easy to get lost when trying to find resources (although they are out there) and accomplish errands. - In general, it's harder to make friends as a graduate student than an undergraduate. Everything is set up for you as an undergrad, but the structure of grad school is much less so."
