"Hello, I would like to begin by saying attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro has been an experience that I would share with anyone. In May of 2018, I will be graduating with a BA degree in Sociology concentrating in Criminology. I intend to further my education and earn a PhD in Forensic Psychology. Has UNCG prepared me for this goal? First, as a student you must recognize that you must be self-productive and actively involve yourself in the curricular opportunities to get the best out of your education. The UNCG Sociology department has professors who are genuinely passionate about their classes. The support from the professors is evident, however majority of them challenge you to be active and learn outside of class settings. I transferred from a community college after one year and all of my credits transferred perfectly. I recommend that you routinely meet with the advisors in the sociology department and career services for greater support of your pursuit in a degree in Sociology! -Good luck"

"The Master's program in Speech-Language Pathology at UNCG is fast-paced, rigorous, and comprehensive for all areas connected to this career. There is a Speech & Hearing Clinic right on campus and there are off-campus semester placements, such as Phoenix Academy and Horsepower. The professors are very approachable, respond quickly to emails, and encourage meeting personally in their offices to discuss anything. The class workload combined with the clinic placement workload is heavy. There are many group projects to plan and journal article reviews to write. I won't lie- it's daunting and at many times seems absolutely unbearable. I've given up on the reading assignments for most of my classes because I just don't have the time to do everything. However, I know beyond a doubt that I will be prepared for my career as an SLP once I graduate from this program based on how I've been forced to prioritize my clients above all else. I think it's beneficial that all grad students immediately start working with clients in their first semester because it makes your current class lessons valuable and instantly applicable. This program is not for the faint of heart. If you have the tendency to slack off or can't handle doing multiple things at once, this is not the program for you. If you're up for the challenge and value professors and classmates who eventually become like family, then welcome home."

"If you are interested in completing your studies at a great institution with a diverse atmosphere then the University of North Carolina, Greensboro (UNCG) is the right place for you! I have attended UNCG for both my undergraduate and graduate careers and I have never regretted my choice to attend this school. I have been able to work closely with my professors on professional research and development and have been presented with several opportunities to be an ambassador for UNCG abroad. UNCG offers a wide range of disciplines and contributes to their increasing enrollment rates to the highly qualified faculty and staff. I would highly suggest UNCG if you are looking to broaden your horizons on topics such as cultural sensitivity, diversity & inclusion, and many others. They also offer a wide range of sports, both varsity an d intramural, and the campus activities board plans different activities for students throughout the academic year. UNCG is the place to be and you won't be disappointed!"

"UNCG provides an excellent education at an affordable price. The faculty and staff in the Master's of Science in Accounting department are knowledgeable, helpful, and possess a large network of acquaintances in the local, regional, and national CPA communities. Many professors are former Managers or Partners at international and Big 4 firms and take a vested interest in preparing their students to succeed in their pursuit of a CPA career. UNCG's MSA program also has courses designed to help you pass the CPA exam and a solid internship and associate recruitment program for local CPA offices - from Big 4 like PwC and KPMG to regional firms like DHG. UNCG provides a quality education and many career networking opportunities at a fraction of the cost of other universities. I highly recommend UNCG and their MSA program to anyone pursuing a career in public accounting."

"UNC-Greensboro is a magnificent institution. Along with providing co-curricular opportunities for students to delve further into their respective concentrations, it was clear that the professors cared about the future of their scholars. I was able to fully understand what was required for me to be successful in my field of student. Through challenging course work and experiential experiences I was able to enter into the marketplace with ease and certainty."

"The Sociology program at UNCG is full of caring, compassionate, diverse, and intelligent professors. I've learned so much about how the world is interconnected globally, the social interactions that underlie all social change, and gained great research, analysis, and sociological writing skills. The professors are expects in their particular field of study and constantly try to get students involved in the community. They also push you to travel abroad, whether it is a semester or summer program, professors at UNCG know how important it is to travel and experience other cultures. It greatly enhances your understanding of how social structures shape life and the global society as a whole."

"UNCG was a wonderful choice for me because of the proximity to my home, and for the wonderful campus. I was able to work a full-time job while receiving my degree and continue to live at home, the next city over, in order to save money. Being a part of the UNC college system is great because all of these schools are widely known and accepted as giving a great education. I would definitely choose UNCG again based on price, the level of education given, and the layout of the campus. It's very approachable and is easy to navigate on foot. I actually didn't drive to school and just rode buses to get to all of my classes. I spent $25/month on a PART student monthly bus pass, which in turn probably saved me over $1,000 on gas and parking at school. I definitely suggest this as an option if you are commuting."

"UNCG was a great environment for growing and learning. I felt a sense of community the entire time I was there, even when I lived off campus. There are tons of student groups, so everyone seemed to have a place that they fit in. The campus is beautiful and Greensboro has most of the benefits of a city without being overwhelming. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely make the same choice again."

"This program helped to facilitate my official capacity as an art educator k-12. I am a firm believer in what I am doing as an art educator in specific, as well as a childhood educator in a more general sense. As a matter of fact, I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in New York City. I am a licensed and certified Art Educator in Brooklyn. I am currently teaching art at a middle school here in Midwood. As a matter of fact, I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in New York City. I intend getting a dual certification and licensure. What, you may ask, is my main focus for this, my second degree? Why Childhood Education, of course! See you in the classroom! Sincerely, D.H.L."

"I was able to receive a full scholarship for the time that I was at the school through a combination of academics and need based merit. As for working with the financial aid off, NEVER call them. The call lines are always busy, but if you email, they get back within an hour usually and solve whatever problems you have. As for professors, they challenge their students to really think about the material, and if you go to them for help, they really take the time to meet with the students. Not only that, but they will also go beyond to help with internships, future jobs, etc. If you are in the club for your major, you often get the opportunity to do a monthly hangout with your professors whether it's bowling, beer tastings, or afternoon teas. Movie nights are a popular activity for the major-associated clubs, and often the professors like to join in. As for social life, there seems to be a club or organization for everything. The campus itself hosts free events every weekend for the students and several throughout the week. UNCG has a lot of access to entertainment. It is across the street from the Greensboro Coliseum where big name singers and sports teams visit regularly. I graduated back in 2013, and I worked in my major field for the past few years. However, now I have decided to return to UNCG in order to pursue a higher degree, and I still have no regrets with my choice."

"Rather small university in the UNC system, allegedly not as good as Chapel Hill. Easy to establish personal relationship with professors who are in general available for office hours and out-of-the-classroom consultations. They should invest more in Liberal Arts if they truly believe, as they say, that a career in LA pays off."

"The Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education (SPAHE) program at UNCG has become one of the leading College Student Affairs Masters programs in North Carolina. The faculty are incredibly well-connected in the field and very willing to help students to make the most of their graduate experience. The theory to practice model of the program allows students to sample a range of functional areas in higher education through formal assistantships and informal internships. The diverse student population and variety of neighboring institutions also allow for an enhanced application of students' graduate studies in higher education. The program has grown so rapidly it is still playing catch up in some ways in figuring out an ideal format for coursework and class structure. Overall, I have been very satisfied with my choice in grad programs and look forward to finishing the second half of my degree."

"UNC-Greensboro has a very competitive music school. The music education program will absolutely prepare you for the real world of teaching. The graduate program challenges you to explore the teaching profession at an intensely deep level. The professors are kind and helpful, and make time to work with students one on one as needed. I highly recommend this program."

"The program is extremely rigorous in the first year, but don't let that scare you. The worst part of it is getting used to the program. Once you do, its all about time management and keeping calm. The most stressful classes (statistics and accounting) are given in the fall semester, so you need both to survive. Other than that, you should be ok. I loved the time that the program put into making sure I knew my classmates before we got into the classroom. That week before classes started was very important."

"There are not many students in the graduate program pursuing a Ph.D. and it is a fairly small program and department but you get to obtain one to one attention since it is so small."
