"The Supporters of Academic Rigor (SOAR): School Counseling Program at UNF is one of a kind. From the first time that I spoke with a staff/faculty member, I was amazed at how sincere individuals were as it relates to student success and how passionate the faculty is about the future generation. In addition, the program places emphasis on working in under-served (urban) populations, in hopes to make an impact on student development. When I speak with those that are in a similar profession and/or school board officials, they speak highly of SOAR program faculty and graduates!"

"The advantages of the Psychology Program is that it is small and you will feel comfortable with fellow grad students. Also, the campus has a high level comfort due to its surrounding nature setting. The disadvantage is the city limits so please be careful. Also, the distance between coming to and from the school can be financially exhausting."

"The University of North Florida's Masters in Clinical Mental health Counseling program is run by very driven individuals, who are attentive, knowledgable, and readily available. They are passionate in their field and want to see their students lives enhanced by their teachings, as well as the field enhanced by the upcoming counselors. They believe each person has something to contribute to the field, and strive to help each individual find their personal goal."

"Studying at the University of North Florida has been a challenging experience that I know has helped me to prepare for the future. The coursework is relevant and up to date with current research. The teaching staff are genuinely concerned with your experience and you don't feel like just another student. The graduate program is competitive and prepares students for their future, whether that be career based or academic. I have enjoyed my time here."

"The Pros is that the school is beautiful and Jacksonville is amazing living right by the beach. The cons is that it is a commuter school, so you never get the real college feeling. Parking is expensive and there are a lot of hidden fees."

"I am in the Nurse Anesthesia program at UNF. The professors are excellent. Always available to help and provide you with personal access to them as well (cell phone). The curriculum is rigorous and highly commended from area hospitals. UNF NAP sets standards that are well above the national average."

"Our program has a very intense and rigorous curriculum. There are only 30 people in the program each year. With such a small class we have a very hands on experience with teachers that are always available and a close-nit environment between the students. We are constantly challenged and are forced to push ourselves further than we knew was possible. I am confident that at the end of our three year cohort we will be the best Physical Therapists that we could possibly be."

"The direct assistance to your career needs is uncertain. So far the hands on is great, but the career help for getting a job seems like it could be weak. The concern is that my research based graduate studies are as beneficial to me as they are to promoting my advisor. Overall the school is great, facilities are new. The graduate coordinator is new and doesn't follow normal school entrance "rules" and as the school itself changes the program requirements, he applies them to students that entered under different program rules. Seems to be a general concern among other grad students."

"The University of North Florida is a great school for those who care enough to receive a good education in addition to its friendly environment and supportive professors. The school is growing rapidly and more majors and programs are being added to the school continuously."

"I really appreciate the class sizes. All students get individual attention and always have access to speaking with the professor face-to-face. The only con that I can think of is pretty common among all graduate programs. Some of the professors are foreign so the language barrier can sometimes be tough to break. But since that is the only negative aspect I can think of, I feel the University's graduate program is fantastic."

"My program is all on-line and I was not eligible for financial aid. My professors are great and work in the community. My professors are known in my field and have written several books. My professors could be more responsible with email responses. And I could use better advisement as I am advising myself for classes to take."
