"Our program is very competitive and and provides a great opportunity to obtain a good career. The geology department has many well respected researchers and professors that effective teachers. The major con of the department is the low diversity in different fields of geology. Most classes are geared towards the oil and gas industry which is great if you want to work in that industry but not great if you don't."

"I wish that the prerequisites of undergrad business students had to be met by graduate students. Grad students who have had experience or even business classes in the past seem to have better capabilities than those who have not. Norman is a great area and students are encouraged go out and meet and great and network. The OU name is probably the best name I could have on my resume with association to a Master's degree. Anywhere I go, people will know or have heard of OU."

"I am currently working on my Master's Degree at OU and I love it. The instructors are great, and they try to help their students as often as they can. The campus is beautiful and the school offers lots of recreational activities free of cost to its students."

"There are many pros to the graduate program that I am currently attending. I am located in Germany with my husband who is active duty military. I am able to attend The University of Oklahoma as they have a contract with the Army to fly in professors from the Norman Campus. They also offer lowered tuition for soldiers and spouses, and flexible night and weekend courses for people who are employed full-time like myself. All of these factors allow myself to afford a quality Masters degree with a program that I am actually interested while living in another country. I also can take courses all over Europe at other participating bases. The only con to the program (and this is more of an issue with the small post that I live on) is that it does not offer the degree so I have to travel an hour and a half to another post to do my schooling. Travel aside, I am very pleased with the program I am in and am proud to be a Sooner!"

"Most of the instructors are amazing. They really take time to work with you on projects and explain how the theories will help you in the real world. The only problem I've had in my program have been difficulty in contacting my advisor."

"The University of Oklahoma (Tulsa and Norman Campus) offers an incredibly competitive Master of Social Work degree program, the only one in the state. With high expectations of incoming students, as well as current students, the quality of professionals produced by this institution is above expectations in the field. The education that I receive here will be crucial in providing me with the resourced to help those in need."

"The School of Chemical, Biological and Materials Engineering at OU offers a very competitive graduate program. The professors are well recognized in their specific areas of studies at a national and international level. Several of them have been part in the foundation of companies based on the research they do. They are available and willing to guide you through graduate school and into the market place. I think the program in our department is very well structured and provides students with challenging and exciting experiences."

"The university offers a variety of degrees and levels to choose from. But because of the international connections, the faculty and staff sometimes has to travel abroad and are not available when local students need advice."

"Pros - Most of the classes can be taken online for many programs - Military students and dependents receive deep discounts, making school more affordable Cons - Most professors are also professionals and can be really difficult to get a hold of, which negatively impacts coursework - Some programs, like Museum Studies, don't seem to prepare you for ANY career in the field, but only for management or administration; there's no way to become a Collections Manager or Archivist."

"I am part of the Outreach Program provided for military members. OU has sent teachers to specified bases for week long sessions for students to complete their grad school. I absolutely love this option as opposed to completely online degree courses. We review the syllabus, content, selected readings, and submit papers via the D2L website, but actually having a teacher travel across the country to lecture and answer questions is something I have not seen from any other university. Because I deploy and travel often, having the ability to complete assignments online and have that structured week with the teacher has made my grad school experience easy and wonderful. Not to memtion, all the teachers I've had have been outstanding. I also went to the Norman campus for a night course and got to experience college life. I attended a football game and got to see the beautiful buildings and statues OU has to offer. No matter where I am in the USA, OU has catered to my education."

"High quality education in a very small town. You don't have to live in the inner city to experience city life. Just 20 minutes away from the city; Safe and quiet town. Great place overall, very challenging academics with supportive community of students, faculty and staff. Love it!"

"I feel that I am getting a quality education from a school with a record of academic excellence. Until recently there was not a lot of organization within my degree program but recent hires have really helped to streamline the process. I would recommend the University of Oklahoma to graduate students."

"The University of Oklahoma offers an excellent outreach program for military students through their Advanced Programs graduate studies. With a wide variety of program delivery methods and degree programs, military and nontraditional students can receive a "state college" experience with their in-person classes at satellite campuses while still performing their duties in support of the military mission. Not only is the coursework applicable and relevant in today's educational culture, but the professors are accessible and the "carrot" is a graduate degree from a respected brick-and-mortar institution."

"This University is more than just a school, it is my home away from home. Everyone has been so kind and has gone to great lengths to make Norman more than just a school. There is also a diversity like none other that I think everyone should be able to experience. You can literally feel like you're in Turkey, Spain, South Africa, and Japan all at once and it is a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend coming to the University of Oklahoma because we aren't just one big melting pot of people, we are truly a family."

"It's a big big school, so if you like one on one instruction this school is not for you. Often deemed as one of the greekest schools in america. If you are not apart of them its not a big deal. Education is really good. Even hard. Lots of oppurtunities."
