"Some of the faculty members are excellent. There is opportunity for hands on learning through internships, etc. which is very helpful. Some of the courses seem irrelevant to my life after grad school, which is disappointing. I also find the quarter system of 10 week terms to be too short a time to invest in a topic. Overall, I am very glad that I went to grad school and I feel that my opportunity for career advancement is very much improved."

"I feel like it is a young program, and that encompasses both its positive and negative qualities. The current scope of the field of CRES represented in the program is limited, but the faculty is very eager to hear feedback and work to constantly improve the program."

"We have a cohort model where, for the first year, all incoming students take most of their classes together. This has been nice for creating friendships and developing network connections. The CRES support staff are amazing. They are always available and help students with anything they need. They really care about the students and their successes. The biggest issue I have with the program is the lack of diversity in the teaching staff. They provide a predominantly white western dominant cultural perspective which isn't always useful in a field with major international opportunities."

"This program is fun and challenging. The University of Oregon Special Education program is ranked 3rd in the Nation and has a stong curriculum that will help future students thrive in the workforce."

"My experience with the school's department faculty has been excellent. They are very knowledgable about the latest research, and when they don't know something, they are willing to admit it and try to find the answer. They tend to have high expectations for their students in the graduate program. Most of the faculty is also very helpful and dedicated to students. I rated "social life" low, because the amount of school work that is expected tends to leave most grad students in the program with a limited social life. However, I think that is pretty common for most grad students. Also, I rated "financial aid" lower because they do have one department scholarship application that is used to determine eligibility for quite a few scholarships (I think maybe 30ish). However, the school does not seem especially dedicated to trying to help students find financial aid options."

"UO Linguistics is a very close-knit department. Professors are accessible, students interact outside of their specific field, we all know each other. Eugene is an easy place to live."

"The Arts Administration program does a great job of connecting students with resources, both in the community of Eugene and at the state- and national-level. Faculty and staff do this by arranging a variety of educational and professional opportunities outside of the University of Oregon. I wish financial aid support was a little better, but the same can be said for many schools."

"University of Oregon is wonderful at connecting students with their community and network. The graduate program is challenging and I feel that I am earning a valuable degree. The administration leaves something to be desired mostly because they need to catch up with technology."

"Strong grad student community and supportive faculty. Yet at times course quality is debatable, and work load can be outrageous given that each student has to teach and take classes (or focus on her research after the first two years) at the same time. A demanding program in the overall."

"I'm in Arts Admin and Management, and I think we have an amazing network. We have contacts that can give students on the job education for seriously awesome jobs, and that makes a huge difference. We don't do exams, but we do a lot of community projects which is great. I love the real world education we're getting."

"My graduate program offers excellent professors with applicable experience who care about their students education. They pride themselves in the fact that 99% of their students obtain employment in their field within 6 months after graduating. One faculty member is strictly devoted to helping students obtain internships and jobs. However, there are little to no scholarship opportunities and he student pool lacks diversity."

"The Conflict and Dispute Resolution program at UO is great. The pros include very helpful faculty and staff with great opportunities for networking, and a rigorous program with a broad range of career possibilities. The only serious con is the lack of financial aid available for students. Hopefully that will be changing as the program becomes more developed."

"PRO: At the UO Portland Turnbull Center, two graduate programs are offered: Strategic Communications and Multimedia Journalism. While there are separate program cores, the programs benefit each other by allowing students to mix in workshops that apply to both programs. CON: While admission to these programs requires 5 years of industry experience, some program elements were more primary than I expected. Depending on your experience, this could be helpful... or it could feel like a slow start."

"Its a good place but not as diverse as I thought it would be when I first arrived. The grad program that I entered is well developed but it still could do better with its facilitation. Most faculty can be found in there office but sometimes its really hard to catch up with them. The type of work given is above the cut but the time to finish this work is unreasonable. Overall it is one of the best universities."

"The OMBA is growing academically and professionally with the alumni base serving as a great resource base for current students. The Oregon education is high quality and affordable. Eugene is a unique, but great place to live! Be ready for wet winters, but friendly people and affordable living."
