"The college is under developed, unorganized and treat doctoral students badly. Their financial packages are also not competitive. You will leave the college unprepared to compete with PhDs from other schools. There are a few good professors who should leave the college."

"The program workload, which strongly encourages 20 hours per week of work as well as a full class schedule, is excellent workforce preparation and a great way to make professional connections. Faculty are super helpful and truly care about your success."

"College was a great time for me. I really learned to come out of my shell and how to live on my own. I had never had the experiences that I had in college before, so I learned how to deal with keeping a schedule and making appointments, etc. You also learn that networking is crucial to being successful in the real world. College is like a real world simulator."

"Carolina was a great institute, but bear in mind that you get out of it what you put into it. You can get a degree by taking easy professors and classes or truly earn your degree by taking challenging courses under a really great faculty."

"Engineering school is great. Plenty of resources. The advisors weren't as much help but the staff is willing to helping you go after it. They also worked really well with my financial situation. The school as a whole is run well and in a great place. Lots to do and lots of people to meet. They have recently updated many of the dorms. I'm very happy with my time at USC."

"I had an amazing experience! I was part of the Honors College and so my experience had the feel of a smaller tight-knit community with all the resources of a large state university. It was a bit of a culture shock moving to the south but you learn to navigate social rules pretty quickly."

"Pros- You can receive in state tuition. I love the GA-ship. I am able to receive experience in my field while going to class. You can also go to conferences that are school funded. There are many networking opportunities. Upon completion of the program, we have to do a residency. Lastly, the program is accredited! Cons- Not many scholarship opportunities. The classes are all in the evenings. The program isn't highly ranked. There is not much diversity in the student body. It is a rigorous program because of the work load and course load. However, it is challenging but very helpful and I believe I will have success in the future."

"I started my PhD in 2011 and I was funded by my adviser until 2014. Since then, I have no financial support from school and I need to pay my tuition myself. The graduate program at my department is so fresh and there are too many young and motivated professors working with students from all over the world. The diversity of students is amazing as it let you socially benefit from different cultures around you. There are restrict rules for graduation which makes a graduate student competitive and hard working since they can not graduate without having a required number of publications. Different associations hold meetings with professionals from industry which provides networking opportunities for future career."

"Primarily, I love my program, for I am learning how to run and interpret statistical outputs. The program is intended to prepare students to enter Ph.D programs in various psychological fields, and I really feel as if I am moving towards my future career goals. However, the majority of funding, assistantships, and T.A. positions are awarded to the doctoral students, so my research training, sadly, feels only conceptual in nature. The faculty are amazing! Every faculty member ranging from Instructor to Emeritus is ALWAYS available to assist students. Overall, I highly enjoy my program in Educational Psychology and Research."

"General education courses were ultimately of no use in my career and only added to the financial burden of my education. I also feel that my degree program - media arts - was too general to provide me with a competitive advantage in the job market."

"My degree is in Health, Promotion, Education and Behavior. I feel that the MPH program here has sufficiently prepared in the field of program planning for health education programs. It was a great experience with professors that were always available when I needed them. As well, It help me to land a job at the university in a field where I wanted."

"After looking at several other advanced degree programs in the South, I chose the University of South Carolina for my Master's degree in Literature. I selected this program since I had the option of teaching during my two years in school, a fact that I loved since I would get real world experience in a college classroom. During my time there, I taught 2-3 sections of an introductory English class each semester, in addition to the 3 classes per semester that I took. My teachers were extremely knowledgeable in their fields of study, and I graduated with a deep knowledge in everything from Georgian novels to Romantic poetry to critical theory. My mentor, who directed my thesis, went above and beyond to help me with my research and writing, and provided concise, appropriate feedback throughout the process.I loved the variety of classes that were offered each semester in the M.A. and Ph.D. programs; in most of my classes, there were a mixture of M.A., M.F.A., and Ph.D. students which allowed for unique perspectives and engaging class discussions. My time at USC more than prepared me for my time after graduation: I have since gone on to teach literature at the college level and work as a freelance writer."

"I had a wonderful experience at the University of South Carolina. I attended all of my classes on campus. All of my instructors were very helpful. When I needed extra help outside of class, I was always able to go to their office and get the help that I needed. My courses were not easy, but my professors helped me pass with flying colors. I give them the credit for the success I had while I was in college. My advisers were also very helpful. I switched majors twice while I was in college, but they helped me select the right courses. Because of them, I was still able to graduate on time. Not only did I enjoy my academic experience while at University of Aiken, but I also enjoyed the campus activities. There were social events weekly that allowed me to get to know the other students. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to continue their education. This school not only gave me the education I needed for my career, but it changed my life for the better."

"Cons: One cannot have a full-time job while studying for the Masters degree program in social work. It takes a lot of time to study and to apply hours of field education from an internship for the semester. Pros: it's a great learning experience for students to learn the perspectives of the social work field. Although you cannot work a full-time job, you can still have a graduate assistant ship to help with extra money on living expenses. You get to work closely with professors and learn how to apply what they teach you to your field education program."
