"The University of the Incarnate Word: School of Physical Therapy program leaves several more pro's than con's. Apart from the high student to faculty ratio here in San Antonio, the curriculum of Problem Based Learning (PBL) really does make the student learn the body and it's function before progressing to the next level. The con's definitely lie in the tuition. It is a private school so that is somewhat expected!"

"Pros, the faculty members are very dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable in their field of study. We are treated as individuals and not as a pay check for the school. At UIW we are a not just a community, we are more like a family where we all take care after each other. Cons: some students are too young to be in a masters program."

"The physical therapy program uses Problem-Based learning, which has been very helpful for my learning. I feel as though I am actively involved in every aspect of my learning, and lectures no longer appeal to me because they are so dull and passive. Problem-based learning gives students the opportunity to come up with learning objectives and then go find the answers, which really helps commit information to memory. The professors all seem very well connected, which has been great for finding clinical rotations across the U.S."

"I am currently enrolled in the online Healthcare Administration program. The school is expensive with the current tuition at approximately $2000 per class for non-goverment employees. Financial aid (other than loans) is pretty much nonexistent for grad students. The workload is challenging, but doable with a job and other priorities."

"I am so glad and excited to be attending the University of the Incarnate Word for my second Master's degree and to be able to complete the degree close to home. Being able to find the best environment for your learning experience is key to a successful outcome of your degree and future career. I believe that UIW will give be the best opportunities to start the path to my career as a Registered Dietician. The greatest pro to attending this program is that there are opportunities to start the internship process before receiving your Master's degree and being one step closer to your career."

"The pros of attending the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry (UIWRSO) definitely out way the cons. The environment of UIWRSO is what sets this graduate program above the rest. They truly care about their students and faculty, helping you succeed in all areas of the graduate program. They have state of the art equipment and technology which also helps us students get the best graduate learning experience. The cons of attending the graduate program at UIWRSO is simply the cost of attending. The tuition and fees are very high and can be burdensome. However, the financial aid office is extreamely helpful and inform students of any aids we are elidgable for."

"The pros of attending the University of the Incarnate Word-Rosenberg School of Optometry (UIWRSO) definitely out way the cons. The environment of the campus is what makes this school stand above the rest. They truly care about their students and staff which makes student life a memorable experience. The graduate program and the use of technology is advanced, giving us students the best education. The San Antonio Medical Center area, in which the school is located, is a great affordable location to live in. The cons of attending UIWRSO is simply the cost of attending. The financial aid department is very helpful in finding you assistance but the costs are still very high. Of course, the school is outstanding and you get what you pay for with their advanced technology and learning environment."

"Pros are definitely faculty involvement. The professors at UIW take pride in making sure that ever students succeeds at some level. They ensure that each student is prepared to enter the real world, not the world that society has portrayed. The cons consist of mainly the school's administration. Our business office, registrars office and financial aide office staff are really incompetent and have little or no communication between departments."

"The MBA at UIW is top notch. It may not get the name recognition it deserves but I would put any UIW grad up against any other from across the country, we may not win, but we will bring one heck of a fight. The professors all have real world experience in their respective discipline and are some of the foremost speakers for their field as well. The program itself is set up for student success, its easy to follow, and challenges you all the same. I love my school."

"University of the Incarnate Word has an incredible support system for their academically challenging courses. Professors and faculty maintain a positive and encouraging environment for students. Since UIW is a private institution, the tuition is higher than public schools, but the academic and hands-on learning make up for the price."

"Although I am relatively new to the MBA graduate program at UIW, thus far I feel like this has been a great choice. The instructors and supporting staff have been very attentive and make a true effort to show you that they want you to succeed. Some students, including myself, have not attended school in some time. The Graduate Student Center has various programs to help you get back into the swing of things, including an intensive writing workshop as well as professional/leadership workshops. The best part, they pay you a stipend after you complete these workshops. What I haven't been too crazy about is the parking. There is a lot of construction on campus and it makes for uncomfortable situations. All my classes are at night and having to go around barriers and out of a lighted paths makes me feel uneasy."

"As an optometry student in a new optometry school, I was a little concerned the school would be unorganized. Rosenberg School of Optometry at the University of The Incarnate Word is exactly opposite of unorganized. The school is very well run. The administration and educators work closely for the program function smoothly. Likewise, the small class sizes allow for an intimate learning environment. The professors truly care about the success and knowledge of their students. Even though the work load is tough, as expected in a doctoral program, the professors are with you every step of the way encouraging students strengths."

"The location of the school is wonderful. Alamo Heights has the charm of a big city, but with a small town feel. The student popluation is extremely diverse and San Antonio is a city near the beach and hill country. The teachers are exceptional, and as a Doctoral Student the research resources are unmatched."
